Weird Frames

(considerateFont) #1

Hello.
I’m new in here and new to the game in general, I wanted to put this discussion in the new player’s Category because I’ve seen too many people talking about this but honestly haven’t seen any actually answers.
So I’ve been having a really really weird FPS after the MOFO update. Basically my frames are around 40fps on minimal settings however it doesn’t feel like actual 40 frames. It lags like hell and I can’t honestly have a good aim because of that issue. the other thing is let’s say I get real 40 Frames, well… that’s not much for a game with such System Requirements. In the steam store it says it needs a 512Mbs Gforce 7800GTX, 3 GBs of ram and 2.33 Ghz dual core minimum.
Well my laptop isn’t great but I have more than that,
nVidia GT 610 1GB Vram
8 GBs of RAM
Core i5 3210m 2.50GHz
Well yeah as I said my laptop isn’t that great but aren’t I at least supposed to get decent frames at medium settings ? weird.
I’ve tried a lot of configs they work great and boost my in-game frames but it still lags even with 80frames!
If you know anything related be sure to let me know
Thanks for the help.

My computer specs are quite similar to yours, a GT640 3GB and an i5-4430s @ 2.70 GHz with 12GB of Ram, i can run the game on medium to high at around 80-100 fps. The only time i got stuttering similar to what you described was with V-sync on, you should try disabling that. (also try disabling thread sync since that may cause pretty big performance issues)

If these don’t work you should also go through the advanced options and disable pretty much everything you see useless like light shafts and decals. (might not help much but it should give maybe 5-10 more fps)

a laptop processor won’t get decent frames in db unless you got a really expensive laptop.

The minimum system requirements are basically what you need so that the game runs at all.
Unfortunately your specs aren’t great as you already know.
Definitely check if VSync and Thread Sync are off in the options and if you are able to acquire a stable 80 frames per second you should be good to go.

Perhaps you are experiencing increased input lag like a couple of other people do.

By the way, the steps I have described in the spoiler might help you squeeze out extra performance.

[spoiler]First of all, open the console by pressing ~ and type in texturepoolsize 1.
Do that in the main game menu to have it take effect the next match you play.

Furthermore you can lower the ScreenPercentage number in the ShooterEngine file.

To make it look like the above screenshot, change it to 50.000000
You can even go lower but I do not recommend that.

There is also the possibility to create an autoexecution file that loads commands like the texturepoolsize one every time you start Dirty Bomb.
The user hypnotoad explained it in this thread.

My guess is that NGS anticheat eats all your CPU. And if i am right you cannot do anything about it (i have the same problem). This issue started after MOFO update. Devs and Nexon know about it. But well… Thinking about new pc so it could possibly help.
