weird brink glitches (pc) help!

so lately my brink game on steam has been acting weird.

  1. text occasionally breaks and turns into weird heiroglyphs. ie, the number 2 will turn into a weird pixel box thing when it shows up in scoreboard.

  2. i have a level 20 character, but some costumes are locked now? For all characters, including the level 20 one (ie: the voice). did those costume unlocks get bumped back in anticipation for the new lvl 24 cap?

  3. whenever i do shift+tab to access steam menu in game, my mouse cursor arrow is invisible (i can tell its working because i hover over buttons and they change color, but i cant see any cursors).

any help anyone?
anyone encounter similar problems?

1- Yes a lot of people have that , its a game bug

2- dunno whats the problem , but level 20 was suposed to unlock all the clhothes

3- same happens to me sometimes

The Text-Bug is quite common and I too hope they’ll fix that soon.

Costumes are fine and unlocked for all of my 3 maxed out chars as well as for my 4th, lvl12 character, so I guess it’s a bug and not intended.

Cursor disappearing in the ingame-overlay is something I’ve been experiencing in a couple of other games from time to time but not in Brink so far, I think it’s a bug in Steam and/or the implementation of the overlay into the game.

Also, there is a tech-help section in this forum where your thread would fit better and get more attention.

so i figured out the problem to number 3. yay.
if youre in windows 7 turn off pointer trails in your mouse settings.

as for the level 20 costume locks im still puzzled.

Can you tell us which pieces are locked for you? If you drop a level in order to respec your abilities, it will act like you were never level 20 and re-lock everything above your new level(but it will stay on your character, if you had it equipped).

I have one character at level 20, and everything is still unlocked, even on my lower level chars.

Clothes: I had that happen, and I think it was after I redid the abilities. It only locked the Look, and I was wondering why. Then a day or so later it was right back, after the patch.

Wasn’t it said before that some cosmetic stuff would be available to be unlocked through achievements?
