Tips to the developers from me
These thing are just my thoughts to the developers around the game NOTE i never played the game
1. Meta? i think it can be inportant for a fps game to have some kind of a meta, Teamplay setups example 3 righ 2 left

2. MatchMaking A matchmaking system with voicechat, ranks and more.

3. Community tournaments This is one way to keep the player base expanding and stay joyful, this is also one step closer to get into the esports (wich i think EVERYONE LOVES :wink: :wink:

4. Let in the community! We are the ones who are playing your game many of us have great ideas for it to become better in many way o:) <3 :slight_smile:

I dont want to see any of those weapons within the game. The mercs wouldnt feel the same with those weapons. Maybe in a future update on a special for this developed merc, but now, please just dont.

I think already quite a few weapons from this list are in the game. Stoker has AK, Skyhammer uses M4 and some time ago there was this female merc with some sort of burstfire weapon that resembled Famaz also there’s the sniper rifle vassilli uses that works like Twinkey suggested. Fortunately none of them works like their CS:GO counterparts so it’s all right.

I think I should be nice if you had more then one weapon/merc to choose from, and skip the fucking item award shit, itĀ“s fun when you are like 12… The merc idea are pritty good if there was more to customize. If yu take skyhammer for example, i really donĀ“t like the M4, so I never play that merc just course of that. and an overall point, this levelshit system, wtf is that… You have to level like forever, course there are hardly never any players on the servers (players are needed to get XP) especially when there are like 100 0000 between the diffrent levels…

Doubble Barrel Shotgun, Dual wield?For faster classes if not implemented allready, Katana Melee weapon, M60, KRISS Vector, UMP45, FN Scar, Tar-21. Just some suggestion’s havent gotten in the game yet but signed up i know Dual Wield aint a weapon but it sounded like something for a swift class so i just made sure to put it up

The whole idea is to get away from the ā€œOne-weapon-and-One-Class-to-rule-them-allā€ mentality. Right?

The Mercs are balanced like this on purpose. It’s actually quite well thought out and implemented, imo.

Getting COD/BF/CS style weapon customization and choices QUICKLY unbalances the game completely.

I hope they don’t do this and just balance the mercs as a whole as they are rather than giving people the choice of guns… please don’t do that.

I mean you could go ET/RtCW style with it like the MP40/Thompson choice… basically the MP40 difference is a slightly faster fire rate w/ slightly lower bullet damage w/ slightly bigger clip. But giving the mercs the ability to choose guns that are VERY different would unbalance the balance that is already present.

It would undo what has been done.

I’m really happy to see a Winchester 1887 and a Magnum .44 (I think) :smiley:
I’m a huge western-fan, and if a game has no Revolver, it is a big turn-down for me.
But Dirty:Bomb has a Winchester, Revolver, pump-action-shotgun and an LMG, which is just 'ossum ^^

I don’t know, but what came to my mind:
The LMG ā€œMG4ā€.

Aside from that, I don’t seem to miss anything^^

I assume because not everyone on the forums have beta access yet, and their - or I should say ā€œourā€ - only way of finding out is to ask you lucky folks who do have access.
A whole other possibility is that the weapons were added after the OP was posted a couple of months ago, considering MissMurder’s reply. :slight_smile:

Regardless, back on topic; I’m hoping for some non-hitscan weapons - albeit I do not know how the current weapons operate. I concede it’s most likely out of touch with the main theme of DB, but I blame my nostalgic feelings towards Tribes for my naive hopes. :wink:

On a slight side-note; Steve Martin mentions the lack of weapon-choice for specific Mercs. Is this only in regards to going outside the designated weapon class (I.e. You can’t choose a shotgun while playing as Arty, but you can pick a different AR)? Or is he confined to a specific AR (not being able to choose another weapon even within his designated weapon-class)?

If the former, fair enough. Some thematization among classes is always good and fair. If the latter, I can suddenly see the need for vast amounts of Mercs, as one might not be able to easily find a combination of Merc class/ability/weapon that they really enjoy playing.

For me, however, the most intriguing setup would be if the only ā€œsetā€ item was Merc ability (and thus class), but one was largely free to choose ones desired weapon - perhaps with the twist that Merc Loadout rarity influenced which weapon categories were open?

But, as Steve Martin mentions, the less customizable the system, the easier it is to balance - and it can just as easily be as interesting as the more customizable system, albeit potentially harder to find a Merc/Loadout you enjoy playing.

Some kind of portative rocket system (RPG-7, M72 law…) as an alternative to the nader’s grenade launcher. High recovery time, around the same damage as fragger’s grenade on mercs but piercing damage on EV. And like W:ET’s panzerschreck, you could add a charging time before it fires to make it hard to use against other players. I think it could perfectly fit in the dirty bomb universe.
