Weapon tweaks for consoles

(NthLegion) #1

From the SD blog:

“We are still working to bring these tweaks over to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Brink and will have more news on that soon.”

Is there any reason console players have to wait for the DLC to have the weapon tweaks? At this point, I think we can all agree that the DLC release date is up in the air. I’m not assigning blame; I’m just stating the fact. If possible, I think most console players would really like to have the weapon tweaks now.

I would imagine the DLC and patch are a bundled package going through Cert right now. Even patches have to go through that process. Since they’re coming together I would assume if they find a problem with one they have to re-submit it all, but I could be wrong.

I really want to use the frkn after the patch

Not all tweaks for Brink require a patch.

(nephandys) #5

Yeah weapons aren’t in the Netvars (tweaks that can be made w/o patching) to the best of my knowledge.

(NthLegion) #6

Damn, I thought they were. I don’t understand why SD wouldn’t include them, when weapons are likely to need a lot of tweaking.

(nephandys) #7

I’m sure they have some reason. Even body type health wasn’t originally in the Netvars, but eventually got added in a patch. Maybe they’ll do that with weapons, or maybe it’s too complicated, who knows?

Quotes from Richard Ham and Neil Alphonso in the link above at least imply that weapon netvars are in the game.

Not all of the tweaks are available to nevtars, like reload time rate of fire damage or spread. But at this point the whole DLC is one big ****ing FAIL. I’m more than upset with that and frankly tired of whining, some one needs a foot in their ass I don’t know who but I’d be glad to volunteer my size 9 military issue steel toes for the position.

The PC weapon tweaks required a patch to be downloaded, but when we see things adjusted with Netvars (at least on console) you see no d/l at all. Like when they upped respawn timer on CC - you just see it in action and otherwise wouldn’t know about it unless you come here or something.

I know it’s BS but also, as Radho has most recently pointed out, basically anything they said pre-launch was just their plan/goal/what they were working on at the time and didn’t necessarily wind up working out that way in the end. (I know the interview is only like 1 month before launch or so).

From the link I posted:

Richard Ham: “We’ve hundreds of necvars [sic] we can play with. Say, how much damage you do with a certain bullet, or the spread radius of shotguns.”

Personally, I’m friends with Radho but not all of what he said is true. not that he’s lying but I just don’t think he’s hitting the nail on the head with everything he says.

Also I pretty much listed everything the weapons can do i kinda meant out of that list not everything was available. I think nevtars are more in charge of weight gain with attachments and things like that or else changes would have already been made to guns like the Carb and the Freakn 3k
