Crafting kits are currently obtainable as single, x5, or x10 packs from Arsenal Crates. They can also be purchased for 0.99USD. Current cost are:

• Silver: 1 crafting kit
• Gold: 5 crafting kits
• Cobalt: 10 crafting kits
• ANY CARD BELOW SILVER CANNOT BE MADE WITH CRAFTING KITS

In case you were talking about WEAPON kits, here’s a rundown:
Weapon Kits can currently be obtained from Arsenal Crates in the same method as Crafting Kits. Weapon Kits are used to pick the primary weapon for a crafted loadout card. The prices increase drastically as you go up in rarity, and cards Bronze and under cannot have crafting kits used on them.

MY OPINION:

Crafting Kits aren’t worth buying because Cobalts and Golds have been devalued so much after Classy Art Hole.
Weapon Kits are a joke due to how absurdly long the time it will take you to get enough of them for your purposes is.

TL;DR

Crafting Kits cost real money and are used to pay for silver+ cards instead of credits, and Weapon Kits are useless and you should forget that they even exist.

This screen says otherwise, that I still need full amount of fragments I’d need even without crafting kits, and that I can craft iron and bronze cards.
I have 5 kits currently and no option is clickable - nor gold, neither silver, not even iron

you should forget that they even exist.

I wrote the below mostly to have a brief description of Crafting in case I ever need it.

The lines pertinent to your most recent question are:

Crafting Kits replace the Credits required, NOT the Fragments. You will always need Fragments to craft.

A quick primer on Crafting:

Open cases to get cards. Cards can be equipped, kept for later or Recycled into fragments. Higher rarities give more Fragments.

Fragments can be turned into cards with a credit fee. Higher rarities cost more Credits and Fragments.

Crafting Kits replace the Credits required, NOT the Fragments. You will always need Fragments to craft. Only Vanity cards (Silver+) can be made with Crafting Kits. (They are indicated by a diamond next to their name on the crafting screens.) Higher Vanities require more Crafting Kits. Crafting Kits replace 5000 Credits, meaning crafting Silver/Gold/Cobalt require 1/4/10 Crafting Kits. Mixing Credits and Crafting Kits is not possible. They are used by clicking the “Craft with Crafting Kits” button above the “Craft with Credits” button on the Crafting screen.

Weapon Kits allow you to select a primary when crafting Vanity cards, which restricts your outcome to 1/3 of the potential cards (6/9/6 for Silver/Gold/Cobalt [2/3/2 skin variants]). You cannot select secondary weapons or melee weapons, despite the name. It is 2/8/45 Weapon Kits to select a primary on Silver/Gold/Cobalt. They are used on the Crafting screen by clicking the large merc card on the left.

That’s just stupid, I mean I’d prefer to just get 5000 credits instead of those barely usable “crafting coupons” (kits)

well to be honest if you ever get 10 of them, they are worth using for a cobalt if you manage to recycle enough cards to get the 25k fragments as crafting a cobalt costs 50k credits which is the cost of a merc

Crafting kits are useless. I have 3 and that was from the first arsenal case i got after they announced it.
10-15 arsenal cases later i havent seen any thing else other than credit boosters and expert cases which i need neither of.

So whats the point of them when no oe can get them other than a .00001 chance every few months months when u rank up
