Framerate issues and bugs would certainly kill this kind of wishes.

The entire UI/HUD needs reworking or integration as there seems to be two sections that don’t communicate with each other. Being moveable with an ingame GUI would be fantastic as well. Dockable and lockable.

I think the devs did the right thing giving the game a splash of character with the merc varieties and that slight edge of humour to it all. That game in the video would have possibly pandered to the CoD kiddies a bit better, but I probably wouldn’t have paid it much heed. Very cool to see it though!

Some elements of it are okay, but it’s so generic I struggle to see how they would have build a true musical theme around that. Do you know if at the time the in-game stings were different as well? That’d be interesting to hear.

I wouldn’t say there’s a huge difference in “tone” between the old and new themes. They’re both calm and ambient like Brink’s two menu themes. It’s just the current one sounds like a dude is having a seizure on top of an organ.

Man, this theme is something I will always remember. This is how you make theme music. While the one we have in DB is neutral to me. But previous one (linked by OP) doesn’t sound any better imo.

The old menu theme reminds me of the type of song that would fit in good with The Secret World.

It would be pretty awesome if SD changed the menu theme to a remix/update of the old ET theme. Not only would it be a nod to ET but it’s just kind of awesome and would make for a great modern remix.

The odl music sounds far too serious for a game that’s become this comedic.
All Points Bulletin had a main menu theme until a few years ago that was remixed on-the-fly, it was very etheric, and would have quotes from in-game characters throughout it every now and then. I think something like that would be amazing for Dirty Bomb.

Then again, I’m perfectly fine with the current situation. A man can dream though.
