WE NEED MORE CONTENT (Message To Developers)

(siennaRanger) #1

Developers of Dirty Bomb, I’m speaking on behalf of the majority of Dirty Bomb players. Many of us (myself included) have been loyal to this game for a very long time now. We’ve all been patiently waiting for Dirty Bomb to really accelerate and present the community with more maps, mercs, and guns to choose from. While many of us still enjoy the game no matter what, many of us are starting to lose our faith in the game after so much time of waiting for new content. Now of course there’s been little updates here and there and new mercs and maps, but not a whole lot. I really feel like you guys should focus more on releasing new maps, guns, and mercs to start pushing the game towards release. If you’re reading this and you’re a developer of Dirty Bomb, please take this into consideration. If you’re a regular Dirty Bomb player like me, please help this rank high in the forums and let’s get our message to the Developers!

I’m sure they know this already. It’s worth considering that Splash Damage isn’t a massive company, and Dirty Bomb isn’t their only project. I’d absolutely love more content, but at the same time I don’t want to see rushed content.
It’s not as easy as just releasing a new gun, it requires bugtesting, playtesting, balancing, etc.
For example, Dirty Bomb’s recent updates have all been focused on bug fixes and other things. Stuff we don’t really think about that much when we see a game, but stuff that is extremely necessary.

Point being, there’s a lot that goes into these things, more than is visible on the surface. SD has said they’re moving from bug fixes back to content, but as much as I hate it, fast content isn’t always feasible.

“on behalf of the majority” … funny.

some more maps would be apreceated, no question, but more guns, more mercs …
this game isnt about a trillion guns or mercs to choose from and its not getting better with more of this. ist a teambased obj shooter. less is more ( exept maps)
there are more important things to improve than guns, cosmetics and mercs.

Im sure there will be more quicker content post sd nexon divorse. now that they can afford more people as im sure nexon charged them a huge sum of money, and whats needed to cover server costs is probable a small amount of what they paid nexon. Then again im probably wrong.

I don’t think money is/was an issue in any way

I have no insight as to the details of the contract, but profit sharing is different than charging for services. Why would a developer pay a publisher in the first place though? It is a 2 way street and both sides bring assets to the relationship in exchange for profits for both of them. In some situations the publisher may provide additional capital, but that may not have happened here. If SD experienced any monetary problems to begin with, the solution was always more content and not less.
