We need assault tools !

(Parmenion) #1

On the map Bridge in the attacker team, it’s too difficult (in PUB) to pass the house where the generator whose control the barrier is.
Usually there is a Bushwaker and his turret upstairs, one or 2 medic, a nader who burst everyone who enter or a fletcher.
The explosives mercs are not enough to pass that, we need smoke grenade or flash grenade asap!

I hope one of these 2 mercs will be release next.

(stealthyBass) #2

Or Napalm which would handle the problem even better. So yeah Stoker next plz.

(Volcano) #3

just shoot and spam the generator from outside until it breaks then push the tank past

(Kalbuth) #4

Nader, hide behind the parked EV, aim the nade launcher at the generator, spam. Generator dead.
You don’t even need to enter this room.

(Eox) #5

Have you tried to shoot some nades through the window behind the house ?

(Claim) #6

You can also try Spark’s REVIVR to destroy the generator from range, if you have spark of course…

(Dirmagnos) #7

Sparks Revivr is extremely effective at destroying generators and disabling EV.
Compared to any(yes, im talking about Arty and Skyhammer, who may not disable fully repaired EV in one go) other merc. You just spam fully charged Revivr nonstop and it takes about 5% off EV per shot, disabling it real fast. Same with generators.

(Viquel) #8

I have the feeling that Spark doing objective damage will be nerfed, or do you feel like it makes absolute sense to have it work like it does?

(Old Man) #9

It’s more than double, especially with Fraggers and Naders. You can always try to sneak from the behind.

(Ardez1) #10

I would say about half of my games on Bridge attacking(when the generator gets repaired) we get past the generator just by breaking it from outside without C4. Very hard for the defending team to prevent. Most of the other times we rush generator and prevent the repair in the first place.

It only takes 2-3 people to lock that room down on defense(depending on skill/merc). In particular Nader+Sawbonez+Bushwhacker are very good for that room.

(LifeupOmega) #11

Nader x2, both fire at the generator, generator down, continue on your merry way.

(Amerika) #12

Yeah, I think it will probably get nerfed too. But, since she’s so fragile and has pretty awful killing power it might not since it gives her at least a bit more situational usefulness. So it would also not surprise me if it did not.

(watsyurdeal) #13

Oh…well hello Nader, and Fragger and Rhino how are you two today?

(Ardez1) #14

Yeah, I think it will probably get nerfed too. But, since she’s so fragile and has pretty awful killing power it might not since it gives her at least a bit more situational usefulness. So it would also not surprise me if it did not.[/quote]

I’ve been managing to pull off some good numbers with her kill wise in pubs. Instead of uses the Companion Agent and going Support heavy I pulled out the 373 Superb Agent. Not bad for combat. She is severely lacking for comp though.

And yes, I would think that her Objective dmg will be nerfed. It is really strong in the right situations. I think it will still be very good, but a slight nerf is needed.

(Gi.Am) #15

I think it would be surprising if they specifically nerf objective damage for sparks. She isn’t doing that much damage, the only reason why she is perceived as strong in this regards is she doesn’t have an ammopool/cooldown to worry about. But I believe a Vassili either with the PDP (less damage but faster ROF) or MOA (roughly similar ROF excluding reloading and higher damage) and lets say a ammostation near him would tear down objectives just as fast if not faster.

And a Sparks that tears down secondary objectives is a sparks that doesn’t revive or heal. So it balances itself.

(Viquel) #16

On Bridge, I usually take Sparks and go to the building opposite of the generator. You can barely see the generator’s edge from there, people can’t hit you from inside, especially if your team is lemming’ing in.

However, as Sparks you don’ have to aim for the generator, you can also aim for a dead lemming. The defenders will have to reload eventually, especially if they blow half their ammo into the dead rising.

I don’t think that any other merc can do that job more efficient.
Granted, this is the only vital generator that is safely positioned for destruction at the moment, so it might stay after all.

It’s similar defending against an EV - you’re charged most of the time anyways, if your team doesn’t insist on dying far out of sight, you have an easy time. This job is more efficient with Skyhammer, Arty or Kira, so I guess it’s alright.

(Gi.Am) #17

I didn’t say she is not good against structures I was merely stating that her strength in that case comes from her infinite ammo not from the damage itself.

I most certainly try to get as many shots as possible into the generator or EV when I play Sparks. But the main job is still reviving and healing.

Also Sparks is a new Merc and destroying the generator with raw damage is a tactic that has just been noted as being effective. Most people therefore still don’t know that a Nader or a Sparks that spams into that room is aiming for the generator and not trying to flush them out or getting a lucky shot in.
So they don’t try to stop them. But sitting in the same spot for 30-60 seconds to wittle down a generator will become a sure way to catch a grenade sooner or later.

Reducing the overall effectiveness of it and making it something that doesn’t need a fix specifically targeted at Sparks (one could argue that structures might need a overall HP buff to ensure C4 stays the prefered method tho).

(Jostabeere) #18

I don’t even know who came up with the stupid idea and allowed Sparks Revivr to deal damage.

(Ardez1) #19

I don’t see a big problem with it dealing damage. Besides, they also took away her primary. And it honestly doesn’t do that much work as a weapon against players. It is only very effective against things that can’t move at all. While you can get kills against players with it, it does take a lot of skill/luck to kill them quickly.
