We need a Brink demo

(rami730) #1

Seriously, we need a Brink demo. This game got so many bad reviews, and that is why some people didn’t buy it. If this game is really that good then make a demo and show everyone how good this game really is. And I hope that SP and Bethesda learned one thing, a beta is necessary. Look what happened, that graphics on the 360 sucks and there is lag. Also what’s up with the ‘‘no lobby’’?

Son, I am disappointed.

son u can gtfo and play cod. Next time use search for info about demo. And talking about reviews, i bet every damn reviewer only knows cod and battlefield, so what u could expect from them… BTW its SD not SP, u are yet another kiddo who never played wolfenstein:enemy territory, or et:quake wars and compare this game to COD (LIKE COD WAS CREATED BY GOD FOR PEOPLE AND THERE ARE NO BETTER FPS GAMES…). GTFO.

Well,Crysis 2 had MP demo.
I also thinked that BRINK should had demo, but no,thats the BRINK!
BRINK is cool as I watched some gameplay videos.
Don´t care about freaking reviews.

phoen1x
How the heck are Wolfenstein Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory:Quake Wars like Call Of Duty series?
I have played W:ET 7,5 years,I enjoy this game very much,ET:QW was also an interesting game what I enjoyed.
But were in W:ET side, because of matches:)

And I ill get my BRINK in 13 May and I really don´t care about reviews,I care about gameplay and enjoable game.
Splashdamage is good team, never dissopointed of them.

Son… Can you please tell me why you think I play cod? I don’t own a single cod game.

(kamikazee) #5

Word, a demo would have rocked. Because buying ET:QW or downloading W:ET is just not the same.

It’ll have to wait though, this is already enough of a storm as it is.

(Nail) #6

don’t need a demo, just a patch

(Herandar) #7

This belongs in the Brink forum.
don’t need a demo, just a patch
Why not both?
The Patch should be released first, of course.

I sense hostility in your post. Calm down. 8)

You have to see it from the broader market view too… COD has more gamers than ET games, so therefore, if BRINK has a demo, that demonstrates how fun BRINK is, then players will want to buy it.

I think it’s a good idea, let the demo only let a person make 1 character, which can be transferred over into the full game, with only the first mission playable by which ever faction. The only thing SD has to keep subtle is the game really only has about 12 maps… but it will hush the critics up.

Yes, yes and yes. You my good sir, are a genius. :penguin:

A demo might not be the best idea.

In its present state, even less people will end up actually buying the game.

(hideinlight) #12

f2p Weekend after they fixed some of the major bugs on steam is always a winner. Just allow people enough time to preload it before the weekend.

agree a demo is needed. wouldn’t pay > $10 for this game without one.

for the guy who said “search forums for info on demo” - I did search and this thread is the most relevant thing that came up.

(hailey) #14

If there was a demo no one would have bought this game

(Petrolbomb_Tom) #15

Brink does not need a demo.

It needs a beta first.

(Szakalot) #16

thats where the unlockables come in. Unlike an ETQW demo, a Brink demo could perhaps allow you to get to lvl 5 or sth; im pretty sure that people would LOVE more ; )

However, this is futile talk; with no demo now i cant see how bothering to make one would make sense.

(jazevec) #17

One of most evil ways to limit a demo:

Force player to play the same team over and over. All Brink installations on your machine could be limited to Resistance. On your friend’s machine, it could be ‘always Security’.

Of course there should be some other limits, but this would be a novel and fun (?!) way to limit a demo.

Lag happens with every new FPS/TPS at the start and graphics are fine, if it was a PS3/PC only game then it would look alot better.

Also the reviews that i’ve seen for the most part have been done by people who are used to games like CoD and to a degree BF and not a game like TF2.

If you need reassurance then rent the game.

(RAAAAAAAAAAGE) #19

If there was a demo there wouldn’t of been 1000 people doing nothing but give pointless unhelpful criticism towards Brink on these forums. That is the only benefit I see of having a demo pre launch (except from a marketing standpoint). Having a demo post-launch now with these bugs takes away from the time SD could be utilising to make Brink even better

(PopeTackler) #20

I doubt SD would be willing to sink the money needed into making a demo for this game.

A lot of companies cite costs as being their number 1 reason for not putting out demos. With Brink, I think they may not have had faith that their product would be widely accepted as the game-changer they advertised it to be.
