The one good thing about the delay is the fact that I bet the supposed DLC release has made people who would have otherwise trade in or sale there game, keep it, and also has probably influence a few new people to pick up the game, here’s to being positive!

yea I kept the game all this time because of false promises, if the balancing patch doesn’t come at least this tuesday I’m returning it and it will be the last splash damage game I ever purchase or recommend.

Can’t you just login to the steam’s website and just “buy” it from there or do you have to actually do it in Steam? I haven’t ever tried to buy from the website, but one would think that might work.

I hope it comes out Tuesday, as I’m going on vacation in early August and missing the DLC would basically assure I never play the game again. I bought it first day for the 360, and have been faithful, but when it takes you over 2 months to put together a small DLC, that’s just sad. Black Ops is having no trouble basically releasing a 4 map + 1 zombie map pack nearly every month, yet SD can’t get 2 maps and a few extra abilities to work in the time span of over 2 months? Come on.

im not worried about it, splash re-called the dlc cause they had a bug or something (well we know they recalled it) so it could be awhile.

no worries though, it will come and it will be free and maybe MTV was right all along maybe it will be the 30th maybe they knew this or have a psychic working with them you never know…

but i never remember a PROMISE anywhere this is ridiculous, i dont remember bad man say “I PROMISE THIS AWAITED DLC WILL BE JUNE FIRST/JULY FIRST” fact of the matter there was never a single promise made and splash is working their butts off will all sorts of other things as well (mind you most the team probably has a family to take care of. if you dont think a family is more important than your puny little instant gratification needs then go somewhere else like GREED-R-US dont just mope.

While a date was never chiseled in stone, they never should have said it was going to come out late June and then early July if they couldn’t deliver within those time frames. It’s better to not set a time at all than set 2 separate expected release times, and fail to deliver both times. All they did was hype the community up for the DLC, only to let it down once again.

This may be news to you, but some customers like myself don’t appreciate the multiple disappointments due to this DLC because they released ballpark guesstimates on when the DLC might come out that were extremely far off the actual release date.

Not saying they aren’t working hard on the game with fixes and tweaks, and that takes effort and time, yes. I’m really happy the 360 is getting all the weapon tweaks and such someday too, but when it comes to the way they have treated the fans in regards to the DLC, they have been pretty terrible. Setting very vague time frames for release that they can’t even live up to, followed by complete silence on why it may be taking so long, and still no accurate release date to be seen.

Lago like you I am a huge fan of Brink, but I think your being a bit of a fanboy here get real, there is absolutely know excuse for SD at this point, none at all…

No company every promises on release dates for DLC. They just simply announce them and then they usually release on said date.

I really don’t like the attitude you are taking. And you definitely shouldn’t be putting words in everyone’s mouths. And even worse, you are backing up your argument with ridiculous justifications. ‘They never promised…’ Are you kidding me? Just because they never started a sentence with “we promise” doesn’t meet anything. They announced two general dates, and fail to meet them both. And this whole deal you said about family is even more ridiculous. What they do for brink they don’t do on their free time, so their families don’t suffer. Brink is their job, its how they make money. THAT is how they provide for their family.

Now, i am actually waiting patiently on the DLC, but that doesn’t mean that i turn a blind eye on false promises. And honestly, if you care so much about SD and defending the team, i think the best thing you could do is be quiet because when you make arguments like this you are actually making SD look stupid.

A july release is also being a little optimistic. For all we know, there may be other problems that pop up after SD fix the pyro mines that would require even more additional time to iron out. With our collective past experience with patches, we are familiar with how fixing one problem can create a new one somewhere else. SD also have zilch experience developing for consoles so who knows when AOC will see the light of day… at this rate I’m guessing mid to late August.

Well I guess SD never “promised” this game would work on ATI videocards aswell so I guess we should think about their families and quit asking for support.

The map “Labs” is on the list of maps to be played at Quakecon this year. Labs is a DLC map and they have it scheduled to be the map played in the finals of the Quakecon Brink tournament. Quakecon start August 4th, 2011. The Brink tournament finals will be on Saturday, August 6th.

This leads me to believe the DLC will be released in the last week of July. I don’t think they would really expect teams to play a map in the finals, on stage that has never been seen/played before.
I’d be willing to bet DLC gets released next mon or tues. That leaves just enough time to squeeze it in before Quakecon.
