So I decided to write up a list of things i think need to be changed about the concuss to make it more efective. comment on them, discuss them, and write up your own ideas if you have any
- Add ability to cook the nades.
- Turn off the HUD if caught in the blast radius, regardless of whether or not you were looking at the flash(or at least make it real glitchy and stuff. make it shimmer, flicker, turn on and off randomly and the like).
- increase bullet spread according to how flashed you are, and remove ADS while flashed(i havent tried ADS-ing while flashed personally, someone has to tell me about that, can you ADS while flashed currently?).
- remove the ability to use or reduce the effectiveness of certain electronic abilities that dont involve deployables(Phantie’s cloak, Spork’s REVIVR[and defibs in general{maybe reduce the amount of health given or something}], Peenix’s AoE-heal-which-name-i-cant-remember etc).
- remove ability to walljump while flashed, probably no change to movement speed or ability to jump/longjump(even though you’ll have trouble standing on your feet and thinking at the same time if you’re flashbanged in real life).
those were the things i think need to be changed about the flash, and now for things i think should probably change about the flash, but dont have much confidence in to “i-put-this-here-to-spark-discussion” level confidence in
- cancels out airstrikes if you somehow manage to drop a concuss on top of a flare before it’s called in(which is right after it explodes).
- adds friendly fire
- throws unused abilities into cooldown(not completely, though, more like 50% or 25%, but its there[probably not for abilities like ammo bags and health packs, though])
- makes your character walk around and look around randomly(though not excessively), forcing you to control your movements more
- reduce speed of reloading and using single-shot or semi-automatic weapons
- adds spread to abilities like throwing mines, stickies, nades etc
- Add a short “stun” state that triggers immediately after taking a full flash effect where you can’t do anything, can’t move, can’t turn, can’t shoot. A static target for friendlies who followed the flash into the room.
- Add a short “confuse” state that follows the “stun” state or triggers when you receive 75% or so of the flash effect where you can’t switch weapons or reload. if you threw a grenade in the confuse state, you are empty handed; if you had an empty pistol, you cant reload or switch to your primary. also, increase spread across the board, dont know about movement, honestly.
