WAV file has length 0

(2Bit) #1

The wav file plays fine with say, media player, but when attached to a speaker in ET an error window pops up declaring the file has length 0.

I’ve tried changing its format, even saving it as .AIFF then back to .WAV using the SoX sound exchange program, but ET remains resolute that the file has length 0 :frowning:

Anyone know how to modify the wav so that ET is happy to play it?

BTW, anyone reading this who is grappling with the “No Data Chunk” error on a wav, use SoX to simply input the dodgy file and output a new version and it should be fine.

Try to look at some stock wav’s.
And look what format (sample rate etc.) they have.

Bingo :drink:

I thought I’d checked all the sample rate, freq, etc, but you nudged me to look again.

And this time I noticed that the dodgy wav was in ADPCM format while the ET originals are PCM. One conversion later and it plays fine in ET!

Many thanks
