If the player walks or jumps in water there are splashes beeing generated using EFX files.
But blaster fired into the water doesn’t produce those.
The water shaders i tried (also original from the games) have usually these parameters:
surfaceparm nonsolid
surfaceparm water
surfaceparm trans
q3map_material Water
Neither the parameters noimpact nor noclip are set,
but it always looks like the blaster simply goes thru the water
and hits the floor below it (with the typical hard impact effect).
I would think they forgot to code it,
but i simply can’t remember of any JO/JA level that has blaster hit splashes…
