(badman) #1

Following the showmatches last week, our fearless community shoutcasting team organised another match this past weekend.

The match video including commentary is now available for watching below:

Big thanks to the shoutcasting team and all the players! Enjoy!

couldnt watch much due to the large fov and the constant camera switching.
can i ask why dont you include team comms in the video.

Sorry to j4b for first calling you a frenchmen and then saying you was a yank! I was MEANT to say you was from Germany but it just didn’t come out that way! In defence, this was the 4th map I was watching and was quite late so I was pretty sleepy. On that note, Dirtybomb is actually REALLY watchable competitively over a long time. I am now MORE into casting/speccing games than playing which is wierd! Haven’ t had this feeling since ET around 2005/6 period!

Thanks to SD for this video, as a casting/recording team we love bringing you these video’s. Anyone and EVERYONE can get involved in this if they want to. Wether it’s signing up to one of our draft matches or asking to come shoutcast with us just try get involved!

Shoutcasters for this video were: Potty, Mustang and Chippy.

AWESOME !

Really loved it, nice to see it from a different perspective

“I say lugar kill, because I come from ET… its not a lugar, its a pistol.”

Good job.

FOV will most likely remain unchanged unless more people request otherwise. Camera switching is only frantic just now due to the lack of functionality as a spectator. Also, there are team comms in the video!

Great job guys, nice to see you took my feedback on board and applied it already… the extra discussions asking chippy what he would do in certain situations were a good addition to the cast, also dropping into the TS channels of each team is a nice idea… i guess when it’s not a gather and they are 2 actual teams there will be a ton more to listen to.

Also hilarious called j4b french then american

Edit: Just curious as to who has control over the camera?

(iwound) #8

i meant TS.
i think the freeview works better.

(Seanza) #9

Me :o

Nothing horrendous, it’s just ideally the person doing the majority of the casting (Potty) should be the one in control of the camera so what he is saying matches up at the same time to what we are watching. But if there are logistical constraints (i.e Potty’s internet unable to record/upload) then just carry on the way you are.

(potty200) #12

I have a 1.2meg connection. I can upload at MAYBE up to 180kbs! Seanza has premium account on his recorder too which also helps. If BT decide to put in fiber optic around the small villages of spalding, I will start to be able to stream. Doubt that will happen for the next 5 years or so!

There was a lot more chatter on the first two maps, at least on our team. This was the third map and it was right after we switched up teams, so the team chemistry changed.

And, speaking of which. Will we be getting those other two? I’d like to watch those as well.

Thanks for all your hard work putting these together! Glad to be part of some organized games.

(Seanza) #14

“Ideally” is the key word here  Have already put it in my spectator features doc that I would like the ability to follow another spectator. That’s the best possible feature to have! It’s common in League of Legends, Dota 2, StarCraft II and now even Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to have a dedicated observer and the casters can watch whatever they want. It’s then the observers job to pay attention and follow that. Right now it’s pretty difficult in Dirty Bomb since there are no key bindings to quickly switch to a player, nor is there the aforementioned functionality of following another spectator.

I’m confident the positive changes will be made, and hopefully made soon!

(rookie1) #15

idk how its working but if putty was seing what Seanza spec ,he could comment on that

(MrFunkyFunk) #16

It’s a minor detail but one dear to me nonetheless:

When attacking the chappel and killing Raste on the mg (5:40ish), I had no idea that you supposedly can’t shoot someone on the balcony if he’s standing where I was. Taking cover from the big balcony railing was obvious to me and I don’t remember any episode on pub play def where I couldn’t kill people coming from the balcony with the mg so sorry if indeed was a bug.
I don’t support bug exploiting and I abide by that conviction.

Now I too wish we could see the first two maps, I know it wasn’t that balanced at first but I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team I was in.

Cheers

il try one more time as my comments are spread in the thread.

Why dont you include the teams TS Audio in the video?

if you run it through an editor just drop in the ts audio as a track and up the level where there is no commentary if its suitable.

Good stuff. +1

(chippy) #19

I don’t think it’s possible for me to sound excited.
