Was unable to log into the game for almost the entire duration of Winters Meme and Fire in the Sky.

Hey guys, not really a frequent poster here, but I have been a die hard member of this community for as long as I can remember (I think I started playing a week after the game went into beta on steam and basically played it at least once a week since then minimum. Anyways, thought I would bring this up now because it’s actually really starting to make me sadder and sadder as time goes on. So, here we go: So basically about after a week of the Winters meme event shortly after I had just acquired the Ice Coald Trinket and I was really getting into the groove of things after a mini hiatus, the game gave me an error one morning when I tried to log in saying something about me being “Unable to log in at this time” that might not be the exact wording because it was so long ago at this point, but I figured it was just the servers acting up or what not and would try to log in the next day. I ended up doing so and the same error popped up, and another thing on top of that, every time I tried to launch Dirty Bomb and this error did end up popping up it would temporarily disconnect my PC from the internet for like 10-15 seconds (I use Ethernet btw so this was weird) Now I did end up trying to go on Twitter at this time and ask for a response about this, I tried multiple times actually but never ended up getting a response. So basically whatever this error was literally stuck around right until the patch that brought in the release of Dockyard, I know this because every single time the game received an update from Winters Meme on I attempted to log in, and every single time I would get the same error, this quite frustrating error ended up making me miss 3 of the amazing trinkets from the Winters Meme event, which I easily would have gotten, made me miss literally all of Ranked Season 2, and on top of that the Fire in the Skies event with the Coveted airship trinket, which I also would have easily gotten all of because of how much I give into hype and how amazing the new map looked. I am also a pretty big spender and collector in this game, I believe I have every trinket up to Winters Meme except for the Firewall trinket from REV which I don’t have simply because of work related reasons and scheduling issues. So basically, missing out on all of those amazing trinkets from Winters Meme, and Fire in the Skies is completely heartbreaking to me, and it would be a different story if I just didn’t have time or couldn’t commit to putting the time in, but this was completely on DB’s servers for this issue. I have not once had an error of this magnitude in DB, for the record I run the game on high settings, with perfect performance and have a very stable internet connection and the game has given me no problems up until that point. Now the strange thing to all of this is that after the Dockyard update the game is running just as perfectly as it always has, it has given me no errors similar in any form to the one it gave to me during those months of locking me out and I have been having more fun in it than ever. Now, if for any reason one of the kind souls on the amazing SD dev team happen to read this, I have one simple request which would make my year and make me know that my 500+ hours in this game and also reassure me that the devs behind this amazing game can give people the benefit of the doubt, all I would like as a sort of reimbursement/fix for misfortune is to have the 3 trinkets from Winters Meme and the 4 from Fire in the Skies added into my account, I hope this doesn’t seem selfish in any way because I would never try to cheat such an honest dev team on something like this, especially after they just delivered on all this amazing content for the Shell Shock event, including Turtle (ITS FREAKING TURTLE HE IS FINALLY IN THE GAME :smiley: After a 2 year wait you guys made him everything I wanted and more) Anyways, it is also worth noting I am leaving the ranked season 2 skins and trinket out of this because it is an entirely different beast and is determined by rank and random chance which I can completely understand, but these trinkets would seem a much easier thing to be added after the fact rather than give some random season 2 cases (even though I wouldn’t turn those down, and also because of how much I love my almost fully complete trinket collection) Whew, if any of you devs or community members managed to get to the end of this, thank you from the bottom of my heart from dealing with my super poor sentence structure and grammar and even giving me the time of day. I love this game, love this community and actually plan on posting on these forums every once in a while. I have been hamming it up on the Dirty Bomb discord which is also a true blast when im at work or not able to play the game. Then you should make a ticket.
Third, I dont have any idea what could cause this 10-15 second internet disconnect repeatedly. It might be a virus or driver malfunction. If you are not using your own computer and internet connection, there might be also limitations.

So here is the questions:

  1. Have you tried to play with fresh windows? You could install windows to own small partition and just install game and drivers.
  2. Have you tried to play with different internet connection? Go to your friends place with your computer and see if problem resolves.

Replying to your questions, I have had the same PC with the same Ethernet cable and internet service provider and plan for the past 2 and a half years, as well as the same PC build for the past 2 years. In the time between Rogue en vogue and the dockyard update I had not installed a new OS or anything that would make any reasonable sense to why this issue would be caused. I verifyed my game cache countless times to try and remedy this issue, uninstalled it, hell I completely reinstalled steam a few times and it yielded no results. Also I did make a ticket but I got a very vague generic answer from the support team, and I was hoping that a dev could read this and maybe give me some insight or look into possibly compensating me with the trinkets I was unfortunately was unable to even attempt to acquire because of this strange server bug completely locking me out of the game.

Then you should. You can download Windows 10 evaluation trial from microsoft.com for free.

I would like to know your question and response from SD team, althought its not necessary. Re-installing OS probably fix 99% problems and save the world.

Also I forgot to mention it in my original large post that if anyone here requests it I can provide screenshot proof of my inventory, regarding my load out cards showing I participated in every event, especially ones that involved trinkets, and of course my trinket inventory showing that I do indeed own ice coald and every other trinket available up to the point that this bug occurred (excluding the founders trinket because i’m not a founder, and then the Firewall trinket for the reason that I listed in my original post here).

It’s unfortunate that the issue you were experiencing persisted for that long however I doubt the trinkets will be given to you.

I should probably note I am on Windows 7 and always have been for the entire duration of me playing Dirty Bomb, and I will be posting inventory screenshots from today August 3rd, 2017. Thank you guys for reading this by the way, really appreciate it!

Um wow coments on this but not one word anything important going on in here. Not that this is any less important but still were all looking for answers in multiple threads and he ignores all of it
