I keep seeing posts on various boards that hyped Brink up to be “the savior of (competitive) FPS gaming.” Did anyone at SD in interviews, posts, etc. actually hint that the game would be competitive, or did people infer that it would be given SD’s past titles like ET? It’s hard to believe that this game lacks demo recording and 1st person spectating. It makes you wonder if anyone at SD has paid even the slightest bit of attention to any of the big name FPS games released in the past 7 years or even their own game ET for that matter. I know that it was generally advertised as revolutionary or groundbreaking but what about competitive?
Was Brink advertised as a competitive game?

Lack of demo is not because they overlooked it, it’s because the title was released too soon before they could squash a bug which could make demo exploitable.
It is planned to be put back in game asap, afaik.
