Warp Speed

(Wolven) #1

I’m having major issues with the game. I warp more than the USS Enterprise. The game is nearly unplayable for me as it is now. Does anyone else experience this, or should I keep troubleshooting my network?

I did not have this issue before the MOFO update.

Sounds like a packet loss problem. Easiest way to make sure if you don’t know how to test for packet loss is…

  1. Test with another PC on that same network
  2. Test your PC on another network

Either one can help determine if there is an issue on your end. (or maybe with your ISP)

NGS is choking the game… the your frame skips due to bandwidth being contested by BlackCipher.aes.

Can you repeat that? I understand if English isn’t your native language, but this is… unintelligible.

It’s not an FPS issue. I’ve capped the game at 120 FPS and my PC, which is pretty beefy, can handle that just fine.

Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz (Haswell)
16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI)

The problem is network related. It’s either an issue with my ISP or the DB servers. Or a combination of both. I’m using a wired connection to my router, so it’s not a WiFi problem.

The connection I’m on is pretty crappy though. Upload speed is just short of 1 Mbps. Download is 15 Mbps.

EDIT: It’s been less of an issue the last few days. Might be due to less traffic on my internet connection, because of the holidays. IDK…

I think he wanna say that the game will run smoother if OP will turn off his monitor…

Use something like glasswire it records all the ips you connect to and ping the servers in command prompt see if you get better ping. Also the people that brought you speedtest.net also have pingtest.net that migh be something to try too it can rate your service to a point

pingtest.net will probably fail your packet loss test (what you are trying to test for) due to being behind a router. So you’d have to open yourself up via DMZ or get your public IP to be directly on your PC (bypass the router).
