@acrobaticBudgie fair points m8. I closely follow wot youtubers such as Foch. Yes his language was excesive and yes he is one of the salty ones but his argument was right. Tanks like chrysler, defender, scorpion or libertee are super op comparison to other non premium vehicles in that tier. Of course once they poison the game with items like this there is no turning back (nerfing them) as people paid for them. And me who purchased T34 ages ago can only dream of stats like these. Ofc they are now planning to buff the old prem tanks too.Dont want to derail the discussion but long story short DB is great because its not a p2w title and the microtransactions are purely about vanity.
I have my fingers crossed for attracting new players to DB simply because WG is big studio with huge community.
The tanks you mention are only really OP when you try to face them head-on as they have excessive frontal armour. Most people simply back up and let the guy on your team who’s using one face them. The T34 still has extremely good penetration and armour for a tier 8 premium tank, so good that I bought one recently and thoroughly enjoy playing it whereas I really wish I could get a refund on my Defender. Make of that what you will.
I disagree that WoT is a p2w game, IMO it’s pay-to-progress; all the strong tanks have a downside that usually isn’t immediately apparent, probably because players have to use them for at least a couple of weeks before others catch on.
As for what this means for SD, WG have a lot of expertise in monetising f2p games; WoT Blitz has been one of the biggest hits on mobile, for example. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see an FPS title coming, given that’s SD’s forte.

@acrobaticBudgie how OP was E25?i thought the only E series that got built was only the E-100 and that was the chassis only.
also the gun is 7,5 Kwk 42 is Panther gun right?
WoT has a history of working from blueprints, prospective designs and in the case of the Chinese tree in particular, imagination. Obviously the Chinese aren’t keen on letting game companies look at their historical records so any tank with a description that says, “prototype lost in nuclear testing” is essentially code for “we made it up”.
What’s OP about the E25 is that it dates from a previous patch when tank destroyers were much stronger because they had much higher view ranges and better camouflage after firing (firing a tank’s gun usually gets you spotted). WG have a policy of not nerfing premium tanks* so it’s got pre-patch camo after firing, which means with a decent crew you can almost be on top of one before you’ll spot it, all the while he’s firing at you every 3 seconds. Yes, it’s a small gun but it’s hellishly effective when you can’t see him. Then he can scuttle off and hide again because it’s also ridiculously fast.
- Way back in ye olden dayes WG nerfed the Super Pershing and because EU regulations state that digital goods must remain as they were purchased, had to offer refunds to all purchasers. Since then it’s been their policy not to nerf premium tanks, though buffs are ok because no one has ever complained that their tank has been made better.
