yes even though its a rare occation that ID,activision would go after someone for using stuff from one of their games… it still can happen… and for some of us who have a good working relationship with some ID workers would rather not burn that bridge by using illegal reversed engineered stuff from one of their games

It’s pretty obvious to me that Activision considers RtCW and ET two different games…

negative… I had contacted xian…one of the main id software gurus and level designer…the same one who’s name pops up in the source code for both games… and he told me they are 2 seperate games… it wasnt even a maybe I got… he didnt have to go ask his boss… it was a big NO…its because there are more than one company involved …one game is produced by activision and one not… you can not take anything from rtcw from the pk3’s and put it into ET

if RTCW wasnt still on the retail shelf than maybe you could but because its still earning revenue… its a no go

trust me I wish this was true… especially for the type of mod I am doing… but it is not :frowning:

so now go find a music engineer, a 3d artist, a 2d artist, etc and create simular RTCW recreations because thats is about as legal to RTCW stuff as you are gonna get
