Want money? Give us some skins

(IIParks_NA) #1

I hear a lot of talk about how the cobalts are always bad and are on low percentage because they want to make money. Its fine keep that low percentage and what - not with the system and all but there are better ways to make money that the players would like. By this i mean skins as in dota or smite or lol skins. Something like a skyhammer pool skins with a pool noodle melee and a squirt gun primary and a floaty. It could be inf. use on cards to change the look and could cost 10$ to get. I would easily pay 10$ for a badass or funny looking skin rather then 10$ on elite cases or another merc. Mercs are limited and elite cases are over priced, credit boosting is useless and the diversity in this game is annoying at best. This would spice up the game, make it more appealing better looking and provide a fun and unique way to fund the game while not making gameplay ANY different. Why this wasnt implemented i have no idea. Would rather have had this before the card system got set up a few months ago. Give us our toy guns back and our gold skins :stuck_out_tongue: was fun being able to pick the way my gun looked.

I really do want more skins. I’d settle for just being able to skin my gun, even - but I love customization. It won’t keep me playing any more or less than I do already, but it’ll definitely find it’s way onto the list of things I impulse buy when I just got paid each month :grimace:

I agree with you, except I think they should develop on the game modes and physics before they start going for cosmetic money making options. In addition to that, this game is VERY overpriced, and $10 would be to much.

User Skin Workshop.

I would absolutely buy skins for a fee. I do remember on the dev stream, they mentioned splitting skins from loadouts several times, which would open the door for more skins.

I don’t see any issue with it. I just hope it is not a priority. If this interest devs, i hope they see this as a reward and not an easy way to gain money faster/easly without fixing the game first.

I would like to see different skins integrated more with the current card system. You know… have different cases which can be bought which have a different set of cards with a themed skin. Something along those lines would be kinda cool, although perhaps frustrating for some.

At the end of the day, any degree of customisation or standing out from the crowd would be good.

Adding skins that are only obtainable through equipping the loadout that has the skin will make me not buy it - since that’s pretty much all they’re doing with elite cases and cobalts right now. I don’t want to gamble on finding a good skin, only then to have it give me the most trash set of augments or a gun I don’t enjoy using.

If skins are added, they need to be something we can either equip separately or apply to existing loadout cards whenever we wish.

The only real skin I am concerned with is my weapon. I can’t see my character doing anything so my characters looks are not a concern.

(Jostabeere) #10

Do you realize how hard it would be to change the payment model? SD has a nice small but stable way of income with elite cases.

(Fap Fap Master) #11

This will be a neat little add on…
Seperate skin store
Sunglasses for Arty? $1
Clown Facepaint? $2
Party Arty? $5 (Total Conversion on Arty) Includes Face paint, Clown hat, Red nose and rainbow painted body.

Skins do not include any augments, they apply to the merc permanently.

(robustWonder) #12

how large is the SD team? It maybe too much work to go back and change how skins work.

(SteelMailbox) #13

They are probably pretty big considering how triple A like the game is in beta. And I dont think its too much work since cmon how hard can it be to separate a skin from a gun and add a few more skins to the game and allow the player to assign it to their weapon. COD and BF do this all the time in less then a year or so.

(IcySkyz) #14

I assume they will eventually develop skins and such after they implement more game based content. All we have right now is objective and stopwatch with the same old 5 maps.

(Fleshpound) #15

I do agree about more “cosmetical” types of loadout.

Maybe this time we should focus on gems or crystals(which are not from CARTOONS or ANIME) for skin colors.

I think It would be cool if weapon skins were set to kills with a gun and maybe exp earned.

(Ghosthree3) #19

I want an option to opt-out of skins tbh, and force everyone to have defaults at my end.

(Nail) #20

artwork is already done for about a dozen skins
