Hey guys!
I was thinking. DB is a very unique game by its own merit. But one thing I’ve missed, but grew acostumed with now, is wallbanging, or bullet penetrating materials, such as thin walls or corners.
Should DB have it? What would be the impact? Is it even worth mentioning?
What are tour thoughts?
Wallbang.

lel no.
this is not R6 siege
Yeah, I thought so. Not having this is one thing that sets this game apart. I just thought it might be interesting to discuss it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wb exists in this game
could be poor ping though
lmao
Vassili tosses a heartbeat sensor, marks a few people in a room… team unloads at the walls and kills everyone… no thanks. lol
This is the main reason why you wouldn’t want wallbanging. There is also other map buliding related reasons why you wouldn’t want it either.

Oh, an ‘official’ reply ! Neat!
Well, it seems reasonable enough. Never thought about it that way. And, as I said, it’s a nice feature, not having it.
On me, post can be closed, @Amerika_KC. Thanks a lot, to you all who commented!

I am anything but official. I am just a volunteer mod who is a regular player with a regular opinion that carries zero extra weight beyond my own reputation. I just clean up the forums from time to time if rules get broken. I’ve been gone for a little while and I’m only now getting caught up.
Let me know if you still want it closed.
Oh, ok. Thought you where related with the devs. Not to diminish your role as a mod, far from it! And you’ve got quite some Dirty Rep.
In any case, I heard what people had to say, and it seemed reasonable. I wanted some arguments to be based upon, and I got them.
Thanks for both replies, tho!
Unless closing a post is too drastic a thing to do here in these foruns, I see no reason to let it clutter the post charts.
Thanks again, @Amerika_KC .
There are already penetrable surfaces in Dirty Bomb. One I can think of of the top of my head is the glass pane at the Indian Restaurant, which gives you a view of the building’s main entrance, and possibly to the Chapel across the street. There’s also the red bus windows that you can shoot through, which gives you a shot at the farthest Attacker’s entry, and the bridge generator. These ones make sense because both utilizes a transparent object, and they give you sightlines over some rather key points. I would like to see more of these, but not on solid brick walls, because…
Vasseline causes enough ulcers and can make even the most seasoned players (more so on newbies) to have their blood pressure skyrocket. Imagine some level 60 Vassili doing some trick jumps, and tossing a heartbeat sensor near the first ovjective on Terminal. Now imagine your team getting locked down by a hail of (what is practically) wallhacking Rhino miniguns.
case and fucking point
Dirty Bomb’s gameplay would change a lot of wallbangs were everywhere…
doesn’t Kira’s weabo laser and artillery strikes already kill through the walls in some spots
the train carriage being one of them?? or was that fixed
Ugh… I hate FMJ in CoD enough. Please no. We’ve already fudging got claymores and bouncing betties in the form of Proxy pancakes. Just… no, ew.

I think it was fixed… It gets wonky sometimes though. I play Kira a lot and it seems like her laser will kill through walls on occasion. I’ve noticed this tends to be where the openings are on the train car so it could be the AOE at work. Definitely doesn’t feel like it used to be where on Trainyard’s second obj, I could laser the traincar up and down and wipe the whole team.
