Wall Jump / Movement Example.

So while looking though the development forums for UT4 I found a video that someone linked and it really started giving me thoughts on how I feel Extraction could handle from a wall jump perspective. Obvious this video also had dodging and double jumps that I am not talking about. Just watch the way the player seems to interact with the walls… Looks like it feels soo good! I have tried to find the mutator for myself with no luck… Enjoy.

Well, yes this is a great demo of how movement CAN be in UE/UT 3, but:

Just play UT2004 and you will feel this advanced movement. It has everything that UT3 was missing.
This mod just brings back UT2k4 movement to UT3.

As far as i remember, a mod called OS 2.0 also had this movement modding. Try these mods/mutators for UT3:

I am pretty sure there was wall dodge in UT2k4 but no wall jump and climbing… As someone that was playing it earlier today I must be missing something huge.

Ah that is what you are talking about :smiley:

No, UT2k4 doesnt come with wall jump. But it has double jump + wall dodge, i personally never felt that this game needs wall jumping.

I actually feel that the wall jumping should be an ability for light classes only. with certain routes that can only be taken via wall jumping… That way things could be a lot better :smiley:

Looks really cool. Would love to see the Extraction walljumping work more like this, especially if it can be differentiated between mercs (for example, rhino shouldn’t be able to do crazy movement, but proxy should).

I really could not agree more…
I want to see the whole movement set be merc limited…

Speed, Number of Jumps, Long Jump, Jump Height and Wall Jumps all broken down to each merc. I would even allow some bigger guys to do the wall jumping! Just make sure it suits the class…

I also feel that just because the class is big and strong does not mean he/she cannot be fast and agile… Something lots of games forget >.<

Rhino wall jumping is very funny. i would like this to be in the game.
