Waiting for host

(tokamak) #1

I tried to get into a server7 times now. The game keeps getting stuck either in the loading screen (where it loads on my side and then gets stuck in ‘waiting for host’. Half of the times I don’t even enter the loading screen but just get a message in the server browser ‘waiting for host’.

I just can’t play at all at the moment.

Do the servers you are trying to join have clients on them?

I am getting the same but when I try to join an empty server or start a solo game I get the crash detailed here:

Yes they filled halfway.

Try joining an empty server or starting a solo game, see what happens.

Works. I just can’t seem to play online any longer. And before I’m getting told to check my connections, any other game works fine.

EDIT: got into a game. But most of the servers are still a no-go for me.

Please send through a condump for an unsuccessful and successful connection attempt and I’ll take a look.

This isn’t being widely reported as far as I can tell.

Did you try forwarding your ports? Is it possible your router settings have been reset to their defaults or changed somehow?

:rolleyes: Hhmm is this Y i don’t see any players 4 days:( i can’t connect 2 any server aswell:eek::stroggbanana:

I have no idea where to get that condump, there’s no #user#(my name) folder in the path you suggested. The whole thing is a mess, the game keeps freezing in the menu. If I get into a game by some weird stroke of luck (and it often requires many tries to get through to this point) then there’s no problem.

But yeah, explain to me how I can get a condump send so I can get something ‘useful’ out of this. This problem is so obnoxious that I would understand it if people just gave up on the game instead of reporting it.

A friend got similar symptoms. Reinstallations failed but then he deleted his setting directory and it worked. He had to get his chars back over the backup function though. HTH
I have no idea where to get that condump, there’s no #user#(my name) folder in the path you suggested.
It will be a Steam ID number, not your visible Steam name.

If you don’t even have a number, where exactly do you have Brink installed to?

Actually re installation did the trick for me, it seemed to happen after the patch came out probably didn’t update properly.
