Wait for full release or stick around for major updates?

Real talk now…

Been really having hard time enjoying DB, heck, I don’t even finish missions… The same ol’ gameplay meta getting stale on same ol’ roster of maps. Nothing new to be discovered, plus putting up with same merc weapon/balance issues.

Now of course there are new stuff coming up, which I should tune in. But maybe it’s time to give it a break? And avoid dealing with any upcoming DB’s development issues and “Early Access Burnout”?

Really torn between these options. Your thoughts?

You listed your own reasoning and emotions about it recently, so with that in mind I think holding out until the full release will be best for ya. That or check back every time there’s a major update like next week’s balancing to keep yourself aware of how things are rollin’ along. There’s no sense in continuing to play when you’re burnt out. You’ve no obligation to this game or community, man, and taking breaks doesn’t make you any less a part of it.

Think you’re in the same boat as me mate. I love Dirty Bomb, I would love to see it succeed, and I’d be all over it again if it was popular. I never really lost interest in the game, I just lost my enthusiasm towards it (if that makes any sense?) I still think it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played but I just don’t feel like playing it in its current state. Half the time I open the game, think to myself “yeah nah” and close it again before I even play a game.

I’ve just lost all enthusiasm to play it as a casual game I guess. I want some serious 5v5 hardcore ranked kinda stuff, but no one is interested in playing 5 stacks these days because “omg balance” so I’ve kinda just put DB to the side and no idea what I’ll do with it in the future. I just want to play with my team, improve as a team and play other dedicated teams, but it seems like no one else in Australia has the same attitude. It’s really frustrating.

We ran a lot of pugs back towards the end of 2016, but honestly that used to do my head in. It was great fun and we were playing them almost daily but quite literally it was almost like a part time job really. The amount of time and effort you’d have to put in (mostly to wrangle up players at the same time) just became too much for me, especially now that I am working 6 days a week I don’t have nearly as much time as I used to.

Basically I think it’s going to come down to numbers. Unless the game grows, I’ll just become less interested. Still enjoy the game when I do play but having to wait hours and hours to find a single ranked match where the other team usually just surrenders any way just isn’t fun, so I’d rather spend my time playing other games for now.

Take a break and keep in touch? We know they’re working on a new map and redoing terminal…check back every now and then and see if either is added.

I don’t see why would you play a game that you are not interested in, so take a break for sure!

Just keep being subscribed to the official YT channel, and watch the weekly vids - and if you see something you might like, come back. This worked for me pretty well

I think the mistake here is that you’re expecting Dirty Bomb’s official release to have some sort of “flick of the switch” affect, where things will magically change for the better. Full release won’t be any different to Open Beta, the only difference is that they don’t have a tag to justify their poor development.

Just take a break and play when you feel like it. Don’t force yourself to stay, or force yourself to leave until release.
It is a game after all, you shouldn’t feel obligated to play or not play.

I have to switch between games occasionally too. Hell, I’m sort of on a break from DB right now, I’ve barely played recently and haven’t touched the game in a couple days. I’m still keeping track of the game’s news, but playing constantly until release just seems like it would kill me. Take a short semi-break like me until you want to play again or see an event that interests you, No reason to play any sooner or any later.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Definitely time to take a break and come back another time. Will take a peek from time to time, on what’s goin’ on.

WHO CARES
Quit if you don’t like it anymore,
take a break if you are tired,
play if you still enjoy it.

I’m playing only ranked atm,I hate pub servers. Is full of Javelins and Guardians, mercs that I hate. There is no min servers or objective servers or execution. CMM is a joke. Most of pub servers is just some random pew pew with no teamplay that makes meanless the objectives. There is no any will to win.

I wanted to quit, stopped to play for 3 weeks and started to play it again because of ranked 4(there is no javelins/guardians and is like a min lvl 10 server). Idk maybe i will quit or take a break once i have to wait 10 min for a match,

Well is your free time.Take your own decision

Honestly, if you need credits, this weekend is there, and then the balance update should be coming THIS coming Tuesday. So if it doesn’t shake up the game by then, even WITH 15 guns being modified, then I whole heartedly agree you should take a break.

(FishRolls) #11

At least check back for major updates and things like that.

Same as you, i think im getting bored for now. I’ll stick around to see what’s going on but i don’t think i will touch Dirty Bomb for some time. I’ll be back for the next map and mercs, but no more than that.

Do whatever you feel like doing.

I usually play DB in bursts. Get super into it for few weeks then it burns off and i take a break for few weeks again. When i come back it’s always the same thing i say: “I forgot how good this games is. Why did i stop playing?”.

you should venture out into the wilderness and get in touch with your inner being, I also have a list of people to take with you

I agree: the shrooms are ripe, and it’s an exciting and colorful experience!

Probably easier to tell us who isn’t on that list than who is
