FreezeTag LMS

  • [li]players don’t die they get frozen
    [/li][li]players can not be gibbed
    [/li][li]uses LMS mapscripts
    [/li][li]Y points for freezing an enemy teammember (suggestion 1 point)
    [/li][li]X points for thawing a teammate (suggestion 3 points)
    [/li][li]winning condition: freeze the whole enemy team
    [/li]decider if members of both teams are alive if timelimt is hit (like normal LMS):

Possible rules for a W:ET FreezeTag mod:

[/li][li]if health = 0 or < 0 players get frozen
[/li][li]frozen players get auto-thawed after X seconds with instant respawn at spawnpoint
[/li][li]every class of the team can thaw frozen teammates in y seconds if they are near the frozen players (respawn at actual position or at spawnpoint?)
[/li][li]medics can thaw with needles (respawn at actual position or at spawnpoint?)

Notes / open questions:

[li]Not sure because of the winning condition “freeze the whole enemy team”.
[/li][li]In shrub players get spawned at the spawnpoint and not at the actual position after they have been thawed.
[/li][li]Not sure if it should be possible for frozen players to tab out.
[/li][/ul]

Edit:

May be for objective modes (objective, campaign, stopwatch) re-spawning at local place after thawing (like reviving).
And a seperate gamemode freezetag with wining condition “freeze the whole enemy team”.

Edit:

freezetag gamemode with same rules as LMS and with same map-scripts.
But:
Winning condition (as said above): freeze the whole enemy team.

Not sure where to find / put the following:

  • [li]Is it possible to stop animations?
    [/li]And freeze them?
    [li]A frozen player should be thawn if another player is a certain time in a certain distance.
    [/li]Without any other action.

Well, you could reuse the pause code for a specfic player only. It would just stop the player from doing any actions.

I believe that NoQuarter has implemented some “aura” code which gives players benefits eg. if they are within a medic’s reach.
Using this here to thaw players in the non-tagged player’s aura would do the trick.

perhaps you can make an icy skin for all the forzen players. or make them apear with there pants of etc… so you can easily tell there frozen oc…

I think that nUllSkillZ knows how to do that after all his powerup skins…
Actually, the blue “quad damage” skin could work here if it made a little more grey-looking, and does not shift around too fast.

perhaps a red glowskin and a blue glowskin so its clear what team the frozen player is on. and parhaps yellow and orage glowsknis for players who are being unfrozen
