A new story entry has been added:
[drupal=550]Vote for Brink and Splash Damage at the PC Zone Reader Awards[/drupal]

UK gaming magazine PC Zone has kicked off its 2009 Reader Awards, allowing the public to decide which games and developers stood out in 2009, and what they’re looking forward to in 2010. Not wanting to sway you too much, but Brink is eligible in the Most Wanted category, while Splash Damage fits snugly inside the box for Best Developer.
Voting is a quick and painless affair and closes on 11 December 2009, which is just over three weeks away. To achieve maximum tapir happiness, be sure to submit your choices before then.

Why should we vote for a game we haven’t seen yet?

(zXSwordXz) #3

This is funny, we haven’t seen any gameplay and we’re expect to vote. Sorry m8, everything on paper sound good but I need to see a bit more before I can give you guys full credit. I don’t believe everything I read.

It isn’t called ‘most wanted’ for nothing. Doh.

However, this is an incredibly stupid competition, you need to fill in all the genres (as people play all genres) which I have no opinion about. Such a poll where people with other interests have to vote on games they have no clue about is just worthless.

Whilst I agree with both of your comments
In my opinion Brink is my currently Most Wanted game
And SD are my current Favourite/Best Developer

If the question was Best Gameplay then I probably wouldn’t be voting
As, like you have said, I’ve not seen any gameplay footage
But in terms of track record, listening to and supporting the community etc. SD are my number 1
And I can’t help my opinion, but I can’t wait for this game
I would put it as my most anticipated game of 2009, regardless of release date

So yea, I voted

Only category I didn’t know what to vote for was Best Sport
So I just put None, and the form submitted just fine

Can someone post the results when released, as I don’t have a subscription to this mag

Hi Mustang,

I agree with you that SD has great support and a good rep for making good solid games. I myself is looking forward for this game. Actually, this is the only game I’m looking forward to play but I won’t buy it if I don’t see that the gameplay will be awesome, has alot of features and very competitive. Especially on the pvp multiplayer side. I might re-consider and vote for them but we still need gameplay video.

(tokamak) #8

therefore your most wanted.

(Ragoo) #9

hm, BRINK is the game I want the most (ok perhaps SC2 is on the same level) so I may do it just for you guys <3 :stuck_out_tongue:

(darthmob) #10

Voting for genres you have no opinion on doesn’t make sense. I put a - in those fields.

Best indie game: Machinarium
Best Developer: Splashdamage
Most wanted game: Brink

<3

Not necessary, there is a thin line between wanted and looking forward. I’m looking forward to it being a good game but judgement won’t come until I see alot of gameplay and features for myself. Then if I like what I see, then it move from looking forward to mosted wanted.

(tokamak) #12

So is there any other game you’re looking forward, I mean, want the most?

(Senyin) #13

Voted. Brink is definitely my most wanted game and Splash Damage
snuggled in very well indeed

(tokamak) #14

Most wanted: Brink
Best FPS: Shattered Horizon
Game of the year: Shattered Horizon
Best developer: Splash Damage.

(zXSwordXz) #15

No but another one that i’m looking forward to is “Tactical Intervention”.

(RoryGreen) #16

I voted :stuck_out_tongue: I haven’t even seen the game but hey, who cares?

(Nail) #17

The more awards of this kind that SD and Brink get, the more Bethesda might be inclined to Hype and support ($) the game

:infiltrator:

(timestart) #18

Yes, I did submit that:

(RoryGreen) #19

Yep, it would be great if they got an award or two. Get people to know the developer and the game. I only found out that Splash Damage existed when I was looking at E3 vids and trailers at gametrailers.com! Advertising means sales Hooray!
