Visual Effex, great Grafix, Blingbling really necessary for us?
I get tired of pointing out that artists make art and programmers make gameplay, getting rid of one doesn’t mean more of another. Furthermore very few gamers would pick up a game if all they saw was blockout maps.

Also, don’t lose sight of the fact that much of the good gameplay (hit indication, team ident, player ident, objective clarity etc etc etc) comes from art in one form or another. Without these things the gameplay would really suffer.
Code is Art !
Hey Guys,

i think SD are wasting most of there time in graphix, Visual Effex, Merc and Weapon Design.
I dont really think does things are very important in a MP only game. The game mechanic like shooting, walking, jumping, Weapon Balance, Map Design are much more important. Or even that ****ing shuffle vote are like 1000x more important for me XD

What do you guys think? Do you care about Visual Effex, great Grafix and bling bling stuff?
I dont think they are wasting there time in the artist department. Having a little taste of bling is nice. Latest update video is…

As for the game mechanics, shooting, walking, jumping etc. still needs plenty of work. In my few+ months here have seen patches with extreme changes. One example the medic. Going from a little too powerful to hmm, weaker. But now the middle ground just has to be found, not to mention other factors that change and effect this. Im sure we can all think of a few.

I like to use high end settings now and then to… well check out the bling and great graFX. I usually try to tweek in game settings only and see what a first timer has to deal with. Have yet to tweek a config. But that in time. Great topic pulley

I think it’s really important to have good graphics. Sure I personnaly don’t really care about graphics when I play a multiplayer game, and sure I’ll probably lower them to gain fps… BUT, If you want a game to be succesful and have a solid player base, you need to make it beautiful to appeal as much player as you can. Even if some of those will surely lower graphics later, there are also a lot of players who enjoy playing in high graph, you can’t ignore them.

And as a video game artist myself, I really like the art direction on this game so far. Keep up the good work

true story. discussing this now is rather useles. Nevertheless I personally dont care at all about grafix, but I think it has to be polished to a certain degree to look fine to the casual players’ eyes who wont judge or at least test a game for gameplay only.

Imo the balance of the dev team ( between arts and programmers) seems ok.
