vista problem in gtk?

hey, installed vista ultimate
and encountered following problem when i should save a map:

ERROR: couldn’t open D:/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/maps/city_riot_alphaNo brushes selected.
for write
what is this an how to fix it?

Sounds a lot like UAC problems… Tried running GTK as admin? I suppose you’d have to shut down the entire application for that, though… does autosave work? Could have it save through there, close down, open in admin mode, load in auto save.

Here I sue this workaround:

  • Make a .txt file.
  • Rename it to .map
  • Open it in a text editor.
  • Put in it:

{
"classname" "worldspawn"
}

And btw I can save it. Start as admin, disable UAC, try compatibility modes, nothing worked here…

solved the problem… now i got both vista and xp on the machine :slight_smile: so i can play newer games on vista with 4gb ram and i can map and play old games on xp … perfect solution :smiley: :smiley:

Haha. Yeah, I might do something like that aswell. Tried everything, nothing works.

Could work. I have an old laptop with XP I could use, though.
