View kick changes

I’m really curious what the motivation was behind the changes to view kick? This seems incredibly unnecessary. The gun play overall feels much worse.
I’m trying to understand what the change was intend to address and why it was needed. Gun play and aiming felt solid prior to today’s patch.

Can anyone explain what “view kick” even means?

Flinching, hitpunch, view kick, I think they’re all the same. When you get shot or take damage, your screen will flinch. This wasn’t a big deal before the Phantom patch, but for some reason they decided to increase it in the Phantom Patch. It is worse now, and there isn’t an overall obvious reason as to why they did this.

They didn’t increase it per se it now scales with damage. I haven’t testet it so far or paid any attention to it really, but my hunch is that on weaker weapons (like say the hochfir or empire) it is actually decreased. While weapons like the blishlok and Dreiss (and offcourse snipers) will propably punch more than before.

I think they did it because Phantom would be OP without it. Now you can fire bullets at Phantom and he can’t get too close, because of the kick. I noticed that when playing Phantom.
