It’s called Adlerhorst and I work on it since quite a while.

Features:

  • Custom tank model (Sherman)
  • LOD (Level of detail) models… about 50% of the trees have LOD
  • Normalmaps (bumpmapping) on terrain and other shaders
  • Radiosity (5 bounces)
  • A lot of custom shaders (shiny metals etc.)
  • Custom skybox
  • And a lot more… :slight_smile:

Its looking quite good. My one and only concern is that it seems to be quite big with lots of open areas. This will give the defending team lots of camping positions and since there are not many places to hide, cov ops will be having a great time.

has a great (dark) atmosphere and kinda reminds me of RTCW

thats just the default construction.tga I think…

The clouds are really moving :slight_smile:

The sky shader is based on one by ydnar (http://shaderlab.com/q3map2/samples/shaderlab_skybox.zip). It has a sun behind the clouds and a little bit of fog towards the horizon.

There is already a map called Adlernest… so I decided to call it Adlerhorst. Adlerhorst is another name for Adlernest in German. So it’s the same. Indeed my inspiration for the map comes from the real Adlerhorst in Berchtesgadener Land where Hitler had his summer-residence.

yay im lovin it :smiley: especially the scale, ive never seen a so realistically scaled map (*). looks awesome. too bad that coz this sizing doesnt fit to the typical et style lot of lamens wont like it and will bitch =(

*:in my map i decided to deliberately downscale it to make it better playable but every time im looking it im sad, seeing how ugly it is from above, even when walking on ground its not that bad… and some items ugly from every view … good to see that somebody else decided to take up the risk and make an “anti-pattern” real-life scaled map. the mountains, the roads , the whole environment… aaaaaaaaaahhhh :stuck_out_tongue: and loved rtcw too, music cool, map cool, … nothing more to say xD! awaiting to play it!

p.s.: it could make a pleasant fresh experience in rotations after a lot of fast “run 5metres shoot die respawn” sequence maps, with a slower, more tactical gameplay… but noone can pre-know how will it work

p.s.2.:maybe a covert class disable? or sniper rifle “out of stock”? but dunno if serveradmins can do this for only 1 map in rot., i guess not :s
