Video, play by play, and other decriptions of matches

In other threads, a desire has been expressed to be able to share video of game turns. Not being able to do that, some people have offered up play by play descriptions of the action and in some cases adding what is known in American Sports Broadcasting as “color commentary”.

I have been entertained by the descriptions and commentary’s of others and I have offered them up myself. I know that not all players are native English speakers and I know that sometimes jokes and attitudes don’t translate very well in print (that’s why we have emoticons :D).

Other people have expressed concern over their matches being made public. Whether or not I understand the concerns (I think I do a little), I will not intentionally publish what others consider “private”. By the same token, I don’t think anybody should feel pressured to provide descriptions, commentary, or any other details about their matches.

In case I have offended anybody, it was not intentional. I write reports in the spirit of fun and I’m not trying to embarrass or bully anybody. I do try to tease a little sometime but I try to do it in the spirit of fun as well. As long as people don’t complain, I will write reports when I feel like it. If anybody finds my reports offensive, tell me (publicly or privately), and I will either edit or stop my comments.

I know there are a lot of people who play the game that are not native English speakers. From what I’ve seen, the ones on the forums have very good English. I am always amazed when non-native English speakers say they are not very good. I suspect that it takes more effort for them but they are always much better than they realize.

After a little research, I determined that there is no video screen capture available for iOS devices. However, there are many video screen capture programs available for windows. Given the recent availability of RAD Soldiers on Chrome, it should be fairly easy to accomplish. If anybody is interested in video capture of matches, I will be happy to share my knowledge and experience.

It’s just a game. It’s supposed to be fun.
