[VIDEO] Loffy's tips & tricks for Dirty Bomb [BEGINNERS]

(Loffy) #1

Hi and welcome! I am going to play Dirty Bomb… so LET’S GO!

Random, personal bits of information, geared towards beginners.

Sweet Proxy loves speed!

Good effort, by the way the EV doesn’t move faster with multiple people next to it anymore, also I’d be wary about pushing the idea of classes onto new players, better that they treat each merc as an individual.

Hey, loffy, pretty good introductory stuff. I enjoyed the editing although there were some spelling errors :d I notice some basics guides are being posted here and they might not be reaching the right demographic. Steam has a guides section you might consider and nexon’s forums also have a guides section. cheers.

Oh, yeah. Also, I disagree with mustang. A medic is a medic and a team needs one.

I only say this because afaik the idea is still to go down the route of roles rather than classes, yes a merc can be better at certain tasks than others, but needn’t be pigeonholed into just that task.

For example Aura is proficient at close range, but she is also a medic, traditionally a merc could only have one class, to say that her class is medic could synonymise being a medic with being proficient at close range, why not say her roles, of which there could be multiple, are close range, medic and etc. now there is no confusion and the close range aspect isn’t being ignored, likewise we can now say Sparks has the roles medic, long range and more, whereas before they would both have only been called a medic.

The problem is this hasn’t been clearly conveyed through publication and in-game information yet, maybe one day.

I’m not sure what to think. Yes, I agree that each merc is his or her own class, so to speak.
BUT, also, I see a lot of players not embracing the “role” that is best suited for the played merc. Worst example I had to witness was where I was a bushwacker lying downed next to c4, my teammate Aura was defusing next to my wiggling body whereas Proxy was defending us both against incoming opponents like the true warrior that she is.
In such situations i would wish, the basic concept of “Roles” as in “Class” are better communicated by guides such as the above.
A basic understanding of “I play a medic therefore I should watch out for dead teammates and help them up so that they can do their jobs” is the first thing. Each individual merc comes second.
