VFX Anomalies

A couple of things I noticed while exploring a few maps and shooting stuff up:

1 - Impacts on broken car windows:


Even though the texture is showing these windows as broken, the geometry appears to be all there and to register bullet hits as if they were intact. Considering how little is left of these windows, maybe a simple workaround would be for those parts of the models to not register hits at all?

2 - Bullet hole decals vs weapon power:



Regular pistol vs Deagle



Machine pistol vs sniper riffle

Most weapons create nice big holes in glass surfaces, but for some reason the Deagle and Vasili’s sniper riffle make much smaller holes despite packing more damage :confused:

That was actually a single shot that went through the first glass divider and hit the one behind (which is very nicely done by the way, I was very impressed the first time I shot a car’s window and ended up with matching holes on the other side as well :cool:). The surprise was when I looked at the other side of that glass pane and it was intact…

4 - Trash bags impact particle effect:


I really like the decal effect when you shoot trash bags, but I’m not so sure about the bits that come flying towards you. They are way too big and seem to be going straight for your head no matter at which angle you hit those bags.

5 - Flying glass shards (?):


This is floating debris which I would have expected to be paper and the like but is transparent and thus looks like jagged pieces of flying glass.

Issues 2, 4 & 5 have been fixed in the latest build :slight_smile:

No changes to issue 1

Issue 3 is no longer present at that location since the dividers were completely removed. However I’ve seen it elsewhere, but forgot to record the location :o

New issue with trash bags:


Right bag was shot with a MP, the left one with the shoty. It looks has if the decal was cut into pie slice bits and scattered around resulting in triangular holes with hard edges :frowning:
