Hello ET mapping types

Well I managed to get time in to make a finished version of the Vesuvius_rev map.
New layout - lots of changes and fixes -
Now I think it’s finally finished :slight_smile:
Be available in a few days after some test runs - then it’s time can get on with my new ET map.

don’t forget to fix columns on 1st allies spawn :wink: you can jump inside them…

btw Indy - like your Italy map, nice to see some effort put into the environment - good job.
Just one comment - tv aerials - there was no tv. in the 1940s

Nor the plastic milk crates in the market place or the green garbage bags but hey you really have to look to see them in italyfp1/2.

Actually historically there could have been “TV aerials” in a number of countries in the 1940’s. E.G. England had one of the best TV systems before it was dismantled when the war started. And they could be just HF radio dipole antennas (though I doubt an old Italian village in the 1940’s would have the money for HF sets even if an HF broadcasting system was available back then in Italy). I guess now somebody is going to measure the lamba/4 dimension on them to prove me wrong…:o

BTW great to hear you are still at it mrfin, I love your map work.

Vesuvius is one of the most advanced maps from a visual perspective (if I dont mix up anything) and Bridges is my absolute favourite map. Good to hear you are still active mrfin :smiley:

Good to hear, i saw in on the picures on your website also :slight_smile:

One more thing, in the beta version in the axis sound directory two sound was mixed:

  • when u played “ves_looseground.wav” you heard “gaining grund”
  • when u played “ves_gainground.wav” you heard “losing ground”

fixing is needed :wink:

And a question
You wrote about the flag on your website: default Allies spawn once the truck clears the tunnel.
This mean after the truck reach the ~C5 coordinate the flag will be no more capturable for the allies team?
If this will be imo its a good idea because the axis team can much more focus on the objective (stopping the truck).

pazur - glad to hear it - cheers!

molotov - the axis spawn sounds were back to front, I reversed them in the script and they are correct now

The church flag - yup it belongs just to the allies when the truck enters the north area - otherwise the allies would have to run for ages to get to the truck from their start spawn if Axis retook the flag

Hey Firefly - still working on the map - yes - soon finished with it though.

Macbeth - thanks for the testing, Berserkr too. I noted the details you’ve spotted. Not sure about the volcano sky-box mind. we will see.
