Very Upset With This New Release.

(bubblesKeyboard) #1

As many of you forum junkies know, I follow this game and it’s development closely and support it 100%. However this last patch is extremely disappointing.

I’ve found 18 new glitches that I haven’t seen before, some of which happen very frequently and game breaking. These can be found here http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/1841/game-objective-stopwatch-glitch-master-list-mar-28-2015#latest and I encourage you to add to the list. Even the god damn forum post is glitched.

In addition to the new patch there has been consistent fps lag - something that never happened before.

The majority of the community has said for the last three phases that something should be done to Aura’s healing station but nothing ever happened.

Proxy’s mines are ABSOLUTELY broken. If she places them and you shoot them with teammates near, they kill your teammates and give her the kills. If she places them and you shoot them and she is near, it kills her and she’s given a suicide penalty. If she places them next to you in a building and you shoot them they damage you, and if not then they go off and damage/kill you.

It scares me that people are buying into this beta phase. This game seems to get worse with each patch. I’m not sure what’s going on here. I feel like Nexon is trying to hype DB up to get players to buy into the beta phase with the thought of exclusivity. I haven’t seen another game hype a beta phase so much. Beta phases are not meant to be hyped. It wouldn’t even be so much of an issue if the situation of the game wasn’t so bad.

You guys need to get your shit together.

Unless this is what you had planned all along and just wanted to burn us for cash like Nexon has many times.

(Amerika) #2

You’ll probably hear this a lot. But the game is in closed beta. There is going to be broken things in the game. Being accusatory and inflammatory helps nobody. Report the bugs and they can be added to their bug tracker and assessed and hopefully fixed before release (but that may not always be possible).

(bubblesKeyboard) #3

I hear that all the time but knowing Nexon I’m probably right. Did you see how hyped beta was? “Back with more awesome” says Nexon, and then SD gives us a beta phase with 1/4 of the mercs and 3 maps

(Rhyno) #4

This happened earlier.

(Amerika) #5

Of course there will be 1/4 of the mercs right now. This is supposed to work similar to how LoL rolls out their champions from what I’ve read. They need content that is tested ahead of time to then roll out as the game progresses to keep people hyped up and interested. The same with maps. I am actually extremely happy that the amount of mercs you get and the maps are smaller. It allows people at the start to get into the game without being overwhelmed and I can look forward to new mercs and maps to be regularly released.

If you think about it from that perspective you might not be as upset with those particular things. I do agree, the bugs are annoying but it’s a closed beta and there is going to be buggy and unfinished things. It’s what you signed up for. I’d wager most of the extremely annoying issues get resolved before the proper release and honestly the game works pretty well overall considering it’s current beta status.

You don’t understand.

I don’t care if there are 1/4 mercs.

I care about Nexon hyping up the beta phase after the NDA was lifted saying “Back with extra awesome!” AND THEN giving us 1/4 mercs.

They’re milking the game. They’re milking us.

@Rhyno post that in my master glitch list please

(Zenity) #7

I had a key, but essentially I “bought in” to this as I only really started playing on the 26th and bought the merc pack. I regret nothing. I am having a blast and sure there are glitches, but none which actually make me enjoy the game any less. I wouldn’t be so worried. This is an awesome game already, and it deserves to get the exposure.

(solt.) #8

I would like to be able to say “I understand why you’re upset”, but I don’t at all.

I personally think that dialing back the Merc pool is a good move on a number of fronts. For one, less information overload for new players. Another is that the Devs can focus on balancing the game one content release at a time.

(Amerika) #9

I understand perfectly fine. Just because you don’t like my response doesn’t mean I don’t understand your point. You simply do not want to accept that the devs must hold back content in order to have content for the future while also not overwhelming people.

“Back with more awesome” does not mean, “back with absolutely all the content we’ve created that was supposed to be released over the next 6-12 months”. You are not entitled to all of that content simply because they said they were turning the servers back on.

(solt.) #10

This.

I think you should loosen your grip on the fact that somebody at SD responsible for hype/presence/marketing decided to use the phrase “back with more awesome”. It’s to grab attention, not a legally binding contract.

(humaneBerry) #11

Hyped up beta phase? I litterally found out about the game a couple of days ago on steam. I am the only person I know of who plays it. Compared to H1Z1 (wich is still an alpha) this is not hyped at all.

Personally i do not track my FPS so i dont know if it drops but im not good enough of a player to notice anyways.

And yes proxys mines are EXPLOSIVES, that usually means that they blow up when you shoot them and explosions deal AE damage. Being a mine, it is also designed to go off when you step on it leaving you utterly without limbs.

(ivoryQuestion) #12

Played the previous test so I knew what I was in for and so wasn’t surprised, except with the new changes obviously like tradeups

(satisfyingGale) #13

Regarding Aura.

I don’t have an extensive amount of experience with the game, but taking the few hours I played in the game (I’ll probably amend this once I have more time in the game) Aura’s healing ability seems perfectly fine, considering:

  1. It forces them to stay in one place to benefit from the healing;
  2. You can see the aura pretty clearly on the ground;
  3. It has a really long cooldown;
  4. One of the characters I played had a hand grenade, which can be used to flush her out from any cover;
  5. If that’s not enough for you, another of the characters I played had an air-strike, which can also be used to flush her out from outdoor cover;
  6. If other characters have abilities even slightly similar in power and utility to the two I mentioned above, then people won’t have any problems destroying her deployable or even killing her outright when she’s behind cover;
  7. In an ability-to-ability comparison, it’s pretty fair.

If the grenades in this game, which I’ve not tested extensively, behave similarly to Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, where they’re one-hit kills that can be cooked, Aura’s healing ability needs to be very powerful to be even remotely balanced against them.

(Flylow) #14

Don’t know what you’re talking about at all, I love the game at the moment even with all the glitches. I guess some people expect a closed beta to be a completely polished game or something.

And when you talk about Proxy’s mine, uhmm isn’t that what a mine is suppose to do?

(MissMurder) #15

The game is still very much an unfinished product and as for the Mercs not being available- they will be released regularly. Right now our priorities lie in balancing, friends and parties, and of course providing in-game content (not in any specific order) We do appreciate the loyalty and patience you guys have given us.

(Nightfalls) #16

It dosent seem you appreciate our loyalty with these obsidian cards.
some of us are really disappointed.

Now now, lol.

Yup, mines are supposed to blow up and kill your teammates when you neutralize them!

1)Staying in one place for healing? That thing is very mobile. Pick it up and you can place it again in 5 seconds.
2)Seeing the Aura on the ground? I’m not asking to see her from the sky
3) See pt. 1
4) Fragger is the only merc that is effective against her. He is the heaviest slayer merc there is. If he can’t get rid of her then GG.
5) Yeah waste an entire airstrike which can kill 5 people at once and has a minute long cool down on one Aura!
6) Some do but aren’t in beta right now. However that’s not the point
7) Medic beating a combat medic 1v1 is pretty fair, you’re right

I know how nades work. Only one merc can use them though.[quote=“joshingMorsel;9966”][quote=“Amerika;9960”]“Back with more awesome” does not mean, “back with absolutely all the content we’ve created that was supposed to be released over the next 6-12 months”. My issue is that people are seeing these advertisements, thinking “WOW MORE AWESOME I BETTER BUY IN!!!” and then given a glitchy game with half the mercs and maps.[quote=“Amerika;9960”]I understand perfectly fine. You still don’t get it. I’m not upset at the fact that there is less content. I’m upset that they advertised there would be.[quote=“humaneBerry;9967”]Hyped up beta phase? Yeah they are! especially when you disarm them :smiley:

(appreciativeBuster) #18

It’s closed beta guys.

Chill.

Post the glitches, play loads of matches and lets sort out balance and possible mods ^-^

(bubblesKeyboard) #19

That’s what I’ve been doing. I’m more upset about the cash milking that Nexon is doing rather than the quality of the game thus far.

(Flylow) #20

Actually you are not disarming them, you’re shooting them with a GUN, you do know how explosives work right? Or are they just suppose to just go poof like a magician or something?
