Venice: Final

I got some really good feedback from the beta 4 release and subsequent betas, and it has all led up to this point. You can get the final version of Venice from one of the following places:

NOTE: Some people are claiming that the command map is not showing up for them. Be sure that you have removed venice_b4 from your etmain folder! Otherwise you will have a shader conflict.

What’s new (aka. why should I download?)

  1. Added a tank barrier after the 1st bridge.
  2. Added a 2nd boat barrier
  3. Added a 2nd entrance/exit to the library. This is a satchel explosive from the inside of the library.
  4. Put an axis team door at the outpost gate.
  5. Added a 2nd axis team door further down the wall from the old team door.
  6. All of the barriers take one charge bar to construct.
  7. Added a new room to snipe from in the 1st courtyard.
  8. Axis can choose from either spawn location at the start of the round.
  9. New voice sound clips for the boat.
  10. Fixed the truck clipping problem.
  11. Fixed bug where tank was out of AT Gun firing range, but hadn’t announced it.
  12. Adjusted/removed various crates and obstacles that were impeding gameplay.
  13. Adjusted the tank path so that it doesn’t clip into the ground as badly in places.

Hey chavo,

glad to see that your map has reached Final State!
Also we are glad that you have implemented most of our gameplay advices, so the map will probably be more fun to play on publics. For example the tank barriers, teamdoor, boat barriers, 2nd entrance @library, spawn selecting… Well done! :clap:

In the end, I did go with many of the nolame suggestions. (So thanks!) It became very apparent to me that there had to be two different versions of venice for pubs and for stopwatch. So be on the lookout for tc_venice. I’m working with people from CAL to make this map specifically tailored for stopwatch play. Some of the changes being made are so drastic that tc_venice could even run on pubs and give people a different experience.
