Vassili viability in competitive

So since the removal of the insta-gib on a sniper rifle headshot kill, I’ve heard that Vassili is no longer viable for competitive. Why is that?

I am by no means a high-skill player, but I’m still curious as to why Vassili is no longer considered viable. Does it have to do with the picking capabilities? A sniper rifle can still shoot downed enemies to gib them, and the MOA has a fast enough firerate that you can most likely take a follow-up shot after downing an enemy player.

Of course, this would mean that a Vassili could pick fewer targets, but that is exactly what the issue was with his insta-gib. Good players could land headshots quite frequently which is why this nerf was added. Now these payers have two options. Secure a kill by shooting them when they’re downed, leading to slower picks, or shooting multiple enemies quickly to get the medic to put themselves in the line of fire to revive them, giving the player an opportunity to shoot them as well.

However, a Sparks player could revive their teammates from a range, but they would still have that one-second delay from getting revived, to actually regaining control (plus the post-res-invincibility). This would give the player more time for a follow-up shot.

If anything, this makes Vassili more interesting to play, and more interesting to play against, at least in my opinion.
What do you think? Have I gotten the wrong idea, or have i made a decent point? Please tell!
