Vassili heart beat sensor pick up

(Mc1412013) #1

Something i just noticed With exception of conc granade/stoker moltov for obvious reasons, why is vassili heart beat sensor the only deployable that cannot be reclaimed?

(GatoCommodore) #2

its a grenade. he pulled the pin before throwing the sensor.

its an expendable item…

Med packs…

think again :frowning:

I always imagined the battery only lasted around 30 seconds and couldn’t be replaced because of how it was constructed. Sure you could pick it up, but you wouldn’t really want something with half a battery left when you could have a full charge.

In actually though, I don’t think Vassili’s heartbeat censor needs any kind of buff. Just be careful where you throw the thing.

Those are consumables not deployables lol

Dont pay atentiom to the op thats crawing back under a rock back in the shadows :’(

Its weird because even the Snitch can be picked up and it roughly does the same thing as the sensor.

(Melinder) #10

You’re meant to chuck them out of bounds anyway so no stress.

(GatoCommodore) #11

snitch is a robot.

unexpendable

Vassili’s detector and Aimee’s snitch are basically like the same thing…

  • You can only throw/use 1 of each.
  • They have a cool down of roughly the same amount of time as their life cycle.
  • They both detect enemies
  • They both can be thrown out of bounds.
  • They both would use some sort of battery/power source to operate.

The only differences are…

  • Aimee’s snitch is blocked by walls.

  • Aimee’s snitch flys and latches to walls/ceilings.

  • Aimee’s snitch applies 1 point of damage adding a healing and damage resistance debuff to enemies.

  • Vassili’s detector goes through walls.

  • Vassili’s detector is thrown more like a grenade and bounces off of things.

There is no reason at all to explain away why you can’t re-pick up Vassili’s detector, yet you can pick up the snitch. It’s just different for the sake of being different.

There is no logical reason to say you shouldn’t be able to pick up Vassili’s detector based off of how it operates.

EXCEPT…

its a grenade. he pulled the pin before throwing the sensor.

he removes that black top device when he threw the sensor

ore throwing the sensor.

  • Skill cooldown, [*]better placement after making a successful advance

I’m more confused about how that thing can detect heartbeats and mark tatgets according to their heartbeat, wjile Vassili himself doesn’t have a phone or panel that tells him the sensor’s status.

(GatoCommodore) #16

nanites spread with each pulse, locating heartbeat frequency.

Nano-machines son.

But those are examples of what it SHOULD be allowed, and are the same reasons as Aimee’s snitch.

@SnakekillerX just adding some more points for arguments sake

Why has nobody else picked up yet on how true this is and how absolutely atrocious, annoying design oversight / decision it is?

Practically when executed right, complete intel control over certain areas of the map 24/7 as long as Vassili is in place to replace it whenever it previous one fades. Since the cooldown is same as the up-time of the sensor. Throw it out of bounds or some other ridiculous, indestructible spot (like inside the little rails, “furrows” at Terminal last obj) even on plain sight; profit. Some out of bounds areas are right in the middle of the playing area too, not just “outside the map” type of things. Think of Bridge EV area for example, you can slam sensors inside the hollow areas covered with green plates all around the vehicle. Free spotting for days since nobody can enter or shoot into those areas to get rid of it.

Not the biggest issue Vassili (and snipers overall) introduce right now, but still greatly irritating “”“feature”"". Heres hoping that map design decisions in the future prevent this absurd nonsense. In the end of the day at least he can’t re-pick it up after failing a throw, completely fine downside imho.

Give the sensor to another merc and remove the potato (“Vassili” as some players name it) from the game, that simple…
