Vassili and Execution mode

Vassili’s Heartbeat Sensor is crazy in Execution mode. It gives way to much information to the defending team to the point it basically ruins any attempts of decoy plays. Want to send two guys to attack A and do it loudly while the rest of the team sneaks towards B? Tough luck, if Vassili has dropped his sensor you’re screwed. When there’s no respawn your location premium info and Vass gets it without risking his neck to have a peek. Possible nerf would be that he doesn’t detect crouchwalking and standing still. I think that way his sensor doesn’t loose value in Objective/Stopwatch and it still has value in Execution as it slows the team that want’s to be undetected.

Good idea for a nerf - doesn’t make it obselete at all, but does reduce its effectiveness largely in Execution.

I actually like the hbs to detect enemy vassili’s and campers and those don’t move a lot, this would be a somewhat harsh nerf for other game modes.

And what’s the use of a counter? Before you stop walking or start crouch walking the hbs will have already spotted you and given enough info.

Well my idea was that you crouchwalk as you approach. You don’t get detected but you move slowly as a compromise. It doesn’t really have to be it, but I just think that in no respawn game hbs is too powerful of a tool and needs a nerf. Defending team already has the advantage of being on a countdown to a win and doesn’t have to push forward. When they know the position of the attackers it just too much imo. I don’t have a problem with it in other game modes and this was the best i could come up with that would leave it’s usefulness in the other game modes. Probably devs could come up with something better than my idea, I’m mostly saying it’s not good for execution as it is.

Not a bad idea. I don’t really mind the HBS, but if there was a consensus about it being op, that wouldn’t be a terrible nerf. Pretty sure execution is the only game mode where I’ve ever made any effort to conceal my position via crouch walk. Usually just flanking with a cooked grenade is the closest thing to stealth I even try.

“Here! Pick this up!”

Spotting the enemy team is kind of what a recon merc should do soooo… not sure why he shouldn’t be able to do that. Also stealth plants are pretty bad unless the enemy has no engineers because it takes one just 3 seconds to disarm so if the planter goes down you may not get there in time to stop the defuse.

Vassili is a Recon merc. A nerf to his HBS just hinders his job. Besides both Execution maps are big enough for one to just get away from the HBS’ radius and go through the other way. Meanwhile the detected status goes away

Recon should be someone who goes ahead to scout the other team, not the character who stays behind your team. What kind of recon is that I throw HBS across half the map, see where my enemies are behind walls and stay comfortably back. In Execution that’s too much for me. Yes the detected status goes away but it already gave you the info you needed. Now your whole team knows towards which plant site the enemy team is heading. True recon merc is Phantom, cloak yourself and try to scout where the enemies are. You don’t get the info for free, you need to risk your neck for it. Vassili just gets that info without even peeking, never risking anything. It just ruins a lot of tactical play that Execution mode can bring.
