Vasilli and Phantom, Beserkish abilities, take a look

Vasilli - Headhunter, when activated, all headshots will all weapons will instantly gib, and increases rate of fire slightly for a period of time.

Solves the problem of Vasilli being a bit too potent in comp while still allowing him to gib, just with a cooldown. :slight_smile:

Phantom - Alastor, when activated, increases speed and gives a 50% damage resistance to all attacks, limits Phantom to his melee weapon, but all his melee kills will gib.

Now, we can actually have a Phantom WITHOUT the Armor, and have good cloak that works, and still have the melee centric part of him available to use.

These abilities should definitely have a 60 second cooldown, so you have to really think before using them.

Uhhhh, I know I want Phantom to be buffed a bit and have a better cloak but isn’t 50% damage reduction way too much? And usually when you think of beserk, you think of increased damage taken to deal more damage and maybe a little bit of increased hp regen in beserk mode.

The thing we’d be adding this to Phantom in exchange for changes to his cloak, like no attacking while cloaked for perfect invis and no armor.

Vassili is already really good in comp seeing how he can instagib downed players and basically have the potential to instagib with every shot (headshots). The only counter for a Vassili is another Vassili, which means if a team chooses to have a Vassili, the other team also has to whip one out as well.

Well that’s what this is attempting to fix, it’s a cooldown based thing now so he can’t instagib everyone, all the time, without cooldown. Which is what the main problem is with him.

Seems fun, and interesting. It’ll help fix Vassili, but Phantom is still going to be really annoying.

Only limited to Phantom’s Katana when that ability is activated? I’d like that as an excuse to remove Katana from the loadout cards so that Phantom has the Katana no matter what.

But the 50% damage reduction does seem a bit nuts, especially against low damage high fire-rate weapons like the SMG-9, KEK, and Hochnfir (forgive me if I spelled that wrong). Buffing his health to 130 seems like a more fair option in my opinion.

I do like that movement speed bonus, though, but probably unnecessary if they just made it to where mercs do not stop sprinting when attacking with a melee weapon.

I do not like that the ability would have a cooldown, though, unless it functioned like Redeye’s IR Goggles ability.

As for Vassili, I’m not sure if that’s the right way to decrease his potency. As of right now, no opinion on that.

Fucking why?

He doesn’t need the ability to gib to be viable. If that just gets removed he’ll be fine, no need to come up with random abilities that have absolutely no place in the game.

So now Phantom can survive sniper headshots and grenades? He’s not a merc you’re supposed to melee with to begin with, he has a gun you know.

Again: Fucking why?

Both of these abilities look like they belong in a MOBA or MMORPG more than they do in a FPS. Phantom and Vasilli might be in dire need of some changes but giving them ‘berserkish abilities’ is definitely not the needed change.

I think doing that to vassili would unbalance the pdp considering the fire rate increase and that one of the things balancing the pdp vs moa and felix is that it doesn’t have insta gib on headshot. But maybe instead of fire rate increase you could have a slight increase to damage and a small aoe low damage on headshot and have it gib for say one clip instead of having it timed, say its a clip of explosive ammo or something like that.

I’d happily trade the ability to instagib with Vasilli for the ability to one shot any merc with a MOA/Fel headshot. Although I like this ability idea too, I see it thrown around a lot.

60 seconds is a long time though for a merc built solely around killing people. Also, the PDP exists, I assume it’d only be instagib on a killing blow.
