Major change: following Seven_dc’s advice, I reduce the file size from 11.2 MB to 6.2 MB by changing most tga textures to jpg.

First, thanks to all the server admins and players who tested the this map. I’ve spectated quite a bit to see how gameplay flowed.

Next, I’d like to thank the following for all their help during the making the map (this is from the readme, but since most people don’t read the read me…)

Desert Skybox by sock  (I modified the sun angle and color to suit my map - shader changes in v2_factory.shader)

Changes for Final:

  1. Fixed the clipping error of the train I introduced in beta2 :slight_smile:
  2. Sped up the train by 20% (speed now 60 vs 50)
  3. The delivery is one spline point sooner now - seems like the train almost always got to the end, but not quite. Hopefully this will balance it a little more
  4. Some details in the factory
  5. Raised the ‘clip’ ceiling in the sky
  6. Added more easter eggs to recognized those who helped me (there are 8 not including the 2 mustard bottles)

But was it yours? …that doesn’t count then :wink: I tried to hide the easter eggs - so they looked like part of the map…all except the mustard bottle, of course

I know of a 1 deffinite and I think I know the others since Bob mentioned this in an email but I’m not 100% sure. If I am right, and I havn’t counted them but maybe when I get a chance to add nodes, then I have found them all :slight_smile:

Easter Eggs: the 8 easter eggs represent a person or organization mentioned in the readme file. I also tried to hide them and make them look like part of the map.

As an example, here is one of the easter eggs. It’s on a machine in the factory. It was made to look like a ‘quality assurance tag’ (ie. Test by: xxx) but has the double meaning that =MLK= tested early versions of the map for me.

So, the 7 other easter eggs are in the same vain - very subtle (imo). I will be surprised if someone finds all 8…

Yes! The axis can build a rocket (the first ballistic missile) but are unable to build fortified doors that sound fortified! It’s all a ploy to fool the allies into believing they are weak and flimsy doors which can be dynamited! :stuck_out_tongue: (I think its the sound used on battery when the ‘blast doors’ to the big gun are opened…but I could be wrong) - plus the sound when they open due to the CP being built is different than when the axis use it as a team door - the axis are very craft…

EDIT: Rumor has it, that it took Mr. Tickles 3 hours to find all 8 easter eggs…can some one beat that time?

I noticed something funny the other day. The truck had passed the ponton bridge. Then the ponton bridge got blown up and while the allies were trying to rebuild it, the bridge materials were shown on the truck in under-construction-white.
