Has mid-air dodge as well, double jump to gain height then hold a direction and press jump again to boost in that direction. I was expecting more from it, didn’t really give much. Press left/right strafe plus jump at the same time does a sideways dodge on the ground as well.
UT4 Trickjumping
Ah missed them. The mantling in COD has always been top notch. Definitely something players have come to expect in games like these.
And while we’re on it. I still really miss lean and prone. I used all those abundantly in ETQW and I was usually able to get some strong advantage out of it. Would really help with the ‘camera on a skateboard’ feel.
For COD given the mechanics they are able to design more impressive maps. DB’s mechanics produces maps with little height
CODAW still restricts you from going some places vertically(which seems pointless given the new mechanic) on most maps. Don’t get me wrong, it is much more free but not as much as you might hope. I found the maps a little cramped because of it, plus I found the movement system to be a bit clunky.
If you want to talk about a fluid movement system look at how titanfall operates…it’s got so much more freedom of movement and fluidity…but DB could never implement something like that, as it would change the game on a fundamental level.
Still, I can’t help but hope for something as DB’s current system definitely needs a little extra to make it interesting IMO. Lots of good ideas already mentioned in this thread in that regard.
