usual doors(_rotating)

(isbowhten) #1

what keys must a door have to act like in every map ? ^^
i tried degrees and force and both and even none of them but how can i make it rotate away from me, instead of randomized opendirections??

(Magic) #2

My doors goes always away from you - its default i think.

func_door_rotating

Type = 4 (wood)

Thas all the keys i have in.

(isbowhten) #3

http://www.pythononline.co.uk/et/tutorial06.htm
edit: maybe your entities definition is not uptodate? unsure - cause I got no experience witht that

(isbowhten) #5

in that tutorial i nearly nothing useful for a door
it says that you have to click with mouse2 and then click func_door_rotating …
nothing about the keys it has to have.
which entity update is the newest?

Question nr. 1

Where did you place the origin o.o ?

(isbowhten) #7

why you ask for origin?
that doesnt affect on the opening direction i think…
i do key: origin value: the point it should rotate around

(masterkiller) #8

of course! you need a brush origin whit your func_door_rotating. You need to put on the side of you want to open.

(murka) #9

The “force” spawnflag will make the door rotate only one way, use “reverse” to make it rotate the other way, hope this is what you want.

(isbowhten) #10

i try it reverse…

reverse works fine

(isbowhten) #11

i tested it in localhost… after next compile (on a host server) it did not work anymore?
