Using the map

Hi folks ! I had a simple thought in mind : why do we bother to have tons of icons representing all the objectives in our field of view and have a map with no indication at all on it ?

I’d like to see only class specifics icons (medic revives for example) in my view and all other intelligence on the map, with a key binding to bring a magnified view of the map only when I need it.

That would leave us with a map that becomes useful instead of wasting space, and a field of view cleared from objective noise.

I’m sure 99% of “comp” players agree. I have everything turned off but tiny objective icons. It’s MUUUUUCH better. Checkout the technical pro tips forum section… The IFF section. Copy and paste the sample code from there as I did, enjoy no more **** all over your screen.

I’ll check it out, thx for the info.

But this should be like this by default. I mean the maps are slowly coming to an end in terms of objectives and roads, it’s getting time to unload the view indications to the map so it becomes a useful tool.

For pubs enable the in-game tutorials like in ET:QW

yeah, the IFF settings there are very nice and useful. The hud is much clearer with this.

Hopefully, SD gives some options to get a customized HUD.
