Using official game trailers in monetized yt videos?

(kAndyREW) #1

Hey guys,

kAndyREW here, and I’m trying to put together a nice “top 5 reasons why you should play Dirty Bomb” type video to help bring in more players!

For the beginning part I want to use some of the official trailer footage, but I’m unsure what SD’s policy is regarding using it in monetized videos.

Could someone who knows please let me know? Last thing I want is an unintentional copyright strike.

Thanks!

I’d assume it’d alright to use as many of the videos are part of the press release kit:

You can also find the DB logo here, along with screenshots and concept art that are released for promotional purposes. Obviously I don’t have official word but it seems to make sense that it would be allowed.

The keyword here is “monetized”. That is, using DB’s content to make own money which I think is not allowed. Promotional/Fan/Free videos etc are fine I suppose. But OP is talking about money making videos. In any case, I really doubt it.

yeah, that’s what I was wondering. just ad running videos on yt. If not it’s okay but it’s always a weird gray area.

I’ll look into this and let you know

@kAndyREW - we so if it’s just being monetized by YouTube ads, you’re good
