using command posts

If you take Kevlar buff for engineers, and metabolism for medics, you can buff one teammate at the same time at a command post with life buff, metabolism buff, weapon buff, and Kevlar buff.

If you wanna get real fancy you can get improved weapon buff, improved life buff(recommended), and sprint boost. Everywhere you spawn is a nearby spawn post, and you get minimum of 4 life pips (if you have the improved pip ability in general). With a command post you can get +1 or +2 pips if command post is upgraded.

If you got 5 or 6 pips, you can even go to soldier to give them extra ammo, and/or give improved sprint boost, or you can save your last pip for a grenade, etc

Usually my pips go unused as a operative, so I try to do this before I leave spawn. Also I didn’t notice at first, but using a command post refills your ammo.

If you got a ‘twin’ with you, both of you together buff each other at the same time, don’t buff yourself cause once you switch classes self buffs are gone. Also if your a medic and your low on pips, and you got increased supplies ability, or supplies command post upgraded sometimes its better to go rambo to kill yourself so you spawn with all pips refilled, etc I do this usually when the objective is close, or I’m always running on the last pip etc

nice tips.

I don’t think many people think about doing stuff like this, so the tips are bound to help.

It’s one of the reasons that as an Engineer, I’ll use my turret and mines to defend a command post if there’s no other objective I need to complete. For example, on Terminal I’ll hold the command post room and simply spend my time mowing down enemies when they try to take it. It’s very close to the hack objective and therefore very helpful for the team.

To refill ammo, you don’t need to open the objective wheel right up. Just enough so it starts appearing then let go. Can be quite a quick process.

you’re doing something wrong if your pips are unused as operative. you should try to hold the caltrop grenades on cooldown all the time. and even if your sticky grenade is still active somewhere, throw it at another spot.

when my sticky is not activated when its cooldown is refreshes i put it in a wrong place usually and place it again or sometimes even throw it directly at an enemy. :smiley:

the emp grenade is also very useful on container city as resistance or resort as security. very powerful against the escorted bot. very awsome to interrupt soldier bombs. :slight_smile:

the ammo refill was mentioned in one of the tutorial videos that were released before brink was out actually.

in general i find command posts very useful. i used to avoid them but now i noticed that actually a lot of fighting is taking place there. they are not ignored, they are actually key spots on the maps.

as operative also make sure you firewall the command posts. its no change you notice directly, but the few extra seconds for the enemy to capture it, gives you and your teammates time to run to it and kill the enemy who tries to take it over.

As an op I always firewall, but does anyone know the exact capture time benifit from a firewalled cp to a cp that has no firewall?

Yeah but Firewall takes up a precious ability point and I still think it is not worth trading another ability for it. IMO it should also give some damage to enemies OR reveal their position on the radar of the guy(s) capturing… I don’t know.
Would be cool to be able to booby trap the CPs too as an op = when the enemy have finished capturing, there is an explosion that most of the time incapacitates him. But the capturer would be informed of this while he capture and could choose not to capture it because he needs to stay alive for now. Disarmable by engies…
