User created clothing and tattoos?

Will there be a tool that allows user created tattoos and clothing?
I really hope there is. The only game that I have played with user designed tattoos was guitar hero and although it was a bit simple, I found myself taking ages designing them. (sad but true :P)

Yeah changing a few textures is the easiest thing you can do in Idtech games.

However, the real question whether or not these items can/should be used in the official game. I personally really hope I won’t ever see a custom-made thing in the official thing. I only want what the in-house artists came up with. It ruined W:ET, the lack of it saved ETQW, I hope the lesson is learned.

You won’t find one single WET server that has the official thing running without modifications. I’m not kidding, I’ve searched for one this afternoon. For ETQW, no problem, all the servers still run the game I bought back then.

Anyway, I don’t see it being much in the game, mostly because if you use a custom tatoo (TGA image 512x512) it should be transfered to the entire player base currently connected to the server, good for minecraft, bad for anything else.

As has been said many times before. If you are uninterested in custom content or easily offended the simple solution is to allow you to only use the pure assets. That way everyone wins rather than just one side, surely this is better for the game and SD/Beth.

To answer the OP, I believe SD said it was being considered but by no means guaranteed.

Sorry I sense someone just wants to force people to play the game he wants to play and limit any options they may have to do otherwise. No custom content, no different game modes, no female models. Super “I’m alright jack” mode engaged!

Vanilla servers can be found in any half decent game server browser. No vanilla servers available? Maybe there isn’t demand for them or the game stop getting updated a long time ago and needs a mod to keep it up to date on features.

Custom content. Allow players to expand on the universe. Include simple options for custom content at the client end. ie. ALL/None/Friends Only etc.

Yeah nice strawman, how about you read my first post again? I’m calling for a clear distinction between stock content and custom content so servers don’t get polluted with all kinds of funky nonsense, like happened in W:ET.

But hey if you love custom content so much, then go have fun in your servers filled with tattooed guys that walked straight out of American History X.

The customization option I’d most like to see is custom hitsounds
And it’s a client side option so no-one else’s game will be adversely effected

Aye though a range of stock hit-sounds to start off with wouldn’t hurt either. Just being able to chose between pings and thuds would already be great.

I think it be pretty cool if they allow us to put clothing,tattoos and scars on your toon… I can find myself spending awhile doing that lol… But if they dont add that in, its not a big deal at all… I’m still very happy they aint porting nothing =) i wish other developers did the same for other games tho =( aww well I can’t wait to hear more on brink !

Or just make them localised so the user can use their own and it wont affect anyone else like in ET:QW Pro and WolfPro.

Doesn’t too many mods stunt growth of the playerbase? New players cba downloading mods and maps and skins and sounds, those little downloads that contain custom images and sounds per server saturate your ET folder as well… it gets annoying.
