If you haven’t lived under a rock you know that USA stands for ‘United States of America’. If you haven’t noticed the nation does not really have an only-one-word name like France or China. Now, I ain’t saying that just because some sad excuse for a human being is asking on some forum “What could be an alternate name for USA?” that it should be changed like that but hey, people from USA; what would be an epic one-word name for your country? Let’s pretend that you had the power to change it. What would it be? Of course non-Americans can propose ideas also.

Which is a terrible misnomer since America is much more than the US: as a Canadian, I live in (North) America and I’m technically “american”, just like the folks from Mexico or Brazil are. If Sweden, Norway and Finland decided to unite and call themselves the Unified Nordic States of Europe, I’m pretty sure people would not refer to that country as “Europe”…

They would? I never told anyone about this but I’m from Finland (Gosh, I feel like I’m telling someone that I’m vegan!). If these countries would unite I don’t think at least I would be preferring to call the united nations “Europe”.

But hey, that’s just my stupid opinion. Maybe, just maybe people would call it that…?

People call it Europe, in the same context as people say “Excuse me I thought this was America”. There’s no claim to be the completion of Europe/America.
