US Army Rangers Mod - OPEN PROJECT FOR ANYONE - CREDIT GIVEN

Hi,

A few months ago I began making an US Army Rangers mod, based off the movie Black Hawk Down. But I stopped playing ET for a while due to other stuff, but now I have gotten back into it and want to continue with my mod. I don’t want to make some pro-uber mod, I just want to offer something different to the regular ET and other mods available. What I need is someone/people who can be co-makesr with me. I am mostly good with textures and stuff, so I really just need someone who is good at scripting and modelling. I am willing to learn to help do that stuff as well though. I am currently learning C++ in my Information Systems course, and it looks like that could help. So if anyone wants to be apart of this, just reply in here :smiley:

I would like to work with you on this mod as a modeller, I’m no expert at it, so if you could tell me what things need to be modelled…
only problem is that I dont know how to export for ET yet.

I’ve been thinking it and have decided to try something new. Instead of having set people making, I am going to make it an open project for anyone who wishes to help. Basically I will request something or whatever, or people will make suggestions, and if things are good enough etc, they will be added. Anyone at all who submits anything or any idea that is used will be 100% credited. I don’t think this has been done before, but I think this could work really well. Things that get added will be decided by other uses, but I hope we can keep it realistic as that is what I am striving for.

I want some feedback on what to make the Axis. I was thinking make them like the Samalians/guys of Black Hawk Down but I thought it would be better to make them something else. Ideas please :smiley:

Hmm, if you like the realistic gameplay of TrueCombat: Elite you could try to mod this mod (skins and maps that suite your needs).

Gameplay doesn’t neccasarily interest me. When I said realistic I meant I didn’t want far-fetched ideas ;). I just want the game to look more modern and to add some stuff that people thought should have been in it.

how about these things for medics?

I cxan try to model this for you as it isn’t a really complex shape, I only need to know if I need to model two arms, or only one like with the akimbo pistols (I think its in the script somewhere)

Yeh that would be cool. Would we have to code that in or will we just need the models?

I think both, ww could use it as a syringe
but if you look at the akimbo models you only see one arm, so I guess we would have to use some of the code from the akimbos for the two arms.

Ok, but we’ll need a coder to help us with that. Will we have it so he rubs them together and zaps, or is that getting to complicated?

Now some stuff that I want to do, but I don’t know if it is possible:
Red light pointer on gun (like a laser aimer)

Stuff that is possible:
Some new Vchats (ie, Enemy Spotter, Enemy Down) stuff like that. Maybe will rip them from Call of Duty.
Updated satchel charges. I’ll look into commonly used explosives today and then post.
Updated dynamite. ^^^^

Try to steer away from that as much as possible. You loose a lot of respect (and eventually, fans) with that.

certainly, TCE allows you to create own weapons, and player packs ( i think that right now some icons and player appereance )

Well it will be hard trying to find voice actors that actually sound real. But I suppose that will go in the unlikely column then.

Those look awesome tfls. Will someone be willing to show how to add them in?

BTW shouldnt the medics revive pack thing have plastic handles so the medic doesnt get shocked by it? and also a wire to a powerpack?

I’d say that only the bottom plates are metallic.

And wires do work, but they are hard to model and animate.

I’m mostly likeley going to edit the medic so he has rubber gloves anyway, so that would make sense :stuck_out_tongue:
