I debugged this map that Arobeuze coded / created, I mailed him the debug code but he didn’t reply.
So I am releasing it.

The main game script has been debugged by Nocturne.


Bug Fix details:

The map had a serious bug, when Axis won the game the screen said that Allies had won.
This bug is fixed, all compliments go to Arobeuze for creating this kickass map.
A great motivation on debugging this cool map.

I e-mailed Arobeuze the debugged script, he didn’t respond to that mail, so I am realsing this awesome map.

Hope you enjoy this map.

Hmm, little suggestion:
If this is only a scriptfix you should only release a pk3 file that contains the script.
Name has to be alphabetically “behind” / “greater as” the name of the original mapfile.

It ain’t just a cvode fix, I also adjusted an image in there, new front etc :wink:

The point is still valid though. As long as you didn’t tweak his .map file, you can still release component parts (command map, splash image, textures, shaders, scripts, etc) as a supplemental PK3. This makes a nice, small download that server admins can put up and not require the rewriting of any campaign scripts or map rotations

I tweaked / adjusted:

maps/UrbanTerritory.script (here was the major bug)
levelshots/UrbanTerritory.tga
scripts/UrbanTerritory.campaign
scripts/UrbanTerritory.arena

but ok, it’s available now

next time I’ll just put on a smaller file (like the mml_helmsdeep_a3 sp1 file)

Next time, you can toss the .campaign file. From what I’ve read from server admins, sometimes they seem to cause problems and most will want to put together their own campaigns anyways.

true, but I wanted to leave the original as intact as possible… this was my first debugging tho lol

fix the spawns!

i played this as axis and when you spawn you get locked in place for about 3 seconds (which in most cases is your shield time) then you are let free. Not good to have a whoel team spawn inside each other.

  • they force download of the map, even if it isn’t in rotation.
  • etmain (and maybe shrub ?) can only handle 64 campaigns total, and doesn’t fail cleanly if you go over this limit.

To fix the spawns, you need to have as many spawn points as players active.

I don’t know what caused it, It couldn’t find the error. Arobeuze set that up… I guess he programmed that inthe BSP file, I couldn’t open that one…

adjustments to the file:

killed the campaign file.

The other one I posted can be ignored.

coulnd’t find the spawn coords tho…

Please re-download the file and overwrite the other… (sorry it had to be this big…)

Tested it on my own server, it had to run in gametype 2, since it wasn’t a valid starting map / campaign, but it will run in a custom campaign.
